When to put up Moses basket/crib if no nursery (or space)?!

DC3 so no spare room/nursery.

We have a Moses basket for upstairs and a crib for downstairs. They're still wrapped as when they were stored, but are out of the loft!

Just wondering when people with no space have made them up with bedding? I'm currently 38+5 and very aware baby could arrive any day now Blush

DH unwrapped and set ours up and put the bedding (I had washed and left it on the side) on when he popped home to get DC1 and bring them to the hospital to collect me/meet their sibling.

It'll give DH something to do during early labour if you're having a home birth!

I have already unwrapped mine and I am 36 weeks! Just gone on maternity leave and I wanted to get all the fabrics washed so they are nice and fresh for baby arrives - done the same with the pram too - just need to put them all together.

I'd get the moses out with new mattress and bedding washed but leave the crib until you really need it. You could always manage with just the moses for a day or two if your baby comes early.

I've had my Moses basket set up and ready (although it will all be rewashed again closer to the time) since 28 weeks (I am currently 31 weeks) were not going to set up his cot until he is about 8 weeks ish (he's due to be quite big)

I like being organised - cant wait for my nesting instinct to really come in xx

Bedding is washed, mattress is new and then the basket and stand are in the way in our room. Just needs putting together!

Crib is in the garage (has been lent to us) and is in a million pieces!

Perhaps I'll hope for a longer labour and use that time "productively" but last one was only 2 hours so it's a risky approach Blush
