We've finished the nursery.... I love it!

I haven't seen a nursery related post on here yet so I thought, sod it, I've just finished mine and I love it and I want to show it off with a bunch or hormoaniacs just like me who will understand how exciting it is.

My little lad is due in September so I am organised way ahead of time, but I don't care I tell you!

Already love spending time in here..... which is ironic because I'll need to wait 6 months for the little blighter to start sleeping in it.

Aw how lovely!! Your baby has a nicer room than me!

I was planning to do the nursery stickers this week. The landlord has since informed us we need to move within 2 months so I'm glad I didn't bother now!

That's gorgeous. You may be early but at least you can sit back now knowing its done and you don't have to do anything later

Thanks ladies, I'm chuffed with out it worked out. I love upcycling so the drawers and dresser you see were cheap as chips, painted and flung in.
The only real expense was the cot bed, which should last him a good few years.
I hope you enjoy creating your wee nests as much as I have mine - its been my fave bit so far (my sagging labia, constant nausea and frequent UTI's come a close second).

Looks lovely! I picked a bright green too - expecting two boys on 12/08! Picked circus bunting wall stickers and up cycled a few bits! This looks really nice and relaxing wee nest.

Love it! I've gone for green too, but don't have nearly as much as space as you, totally jealous.

Ahhh we are lucky with that room size!
The rug was an eBay purchase - here you go: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Nursery-Girls-Boys-Children-Playroom-Cream-Owl-Bedroom-Rug-Carpet-Kids-Luxury-/251923457400?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&var=&hash=item3aa7cee578

It's really good quality but manages to run across the floor on its own so I do need to get a backer of some description for it... or evict the ghost.

Firstly I'm jealous .. Secondly what a gorgeous, stunning, adorable creative nursery. Well done :-) can I move in too :-)

I've got most of my stuff - December baby but going all neutral with white furniture and one main featured wall mint green. Want going to use stickers as ha be bunting and canvas wall pictures but you've just put this idea in my head. I've bought a nice comfy sofa bed instead of rocking chair in case want to sleep in baby's room I can :-)

I'm so jealous of how big the room is! Love the rug and we have that cot (but in a teeny tiny room so takes up half of it! lol)

The swap ... Errrr I think I'll pass on that one ;-) I stared buying stuff since 12 weeks. I've always had this fear what if something happens and the baby comes and I'm not prepared.

My sister gave me the sofa bed idea as she found it after breast feeding sometimes she didn't want to move or disturb oH in room so got sofa bed and that the best thing she's ever done.

Again well done in creating such beautiful room :-)

LOVE that lilac colour... one of my faves...I was secretly hoping for a girl back when we were TTC so that I could try that along side pink and mint green; looks gorgeous.

We've decorated the room ready but are keeping the double bed until she moves out of our room, as we have nowhere else for guests to sleep!

It's only one wall blue as well as behind the shelves, the rest is white. The curtains are gingham. So despite it being blue it's a pretty girly room really :)

I love them all and don't worry ARV1981 he'll get there.... My DH painted the walls and I did the furniture in the end but if I hadn't have decided I was starting 4 weeks ago he never would have either!

Such cute nurseries, i'm getting lots of inspiration for mine! ImpatiencePersonified where did you get your glider chair from?

Report
ImpatiencePersonified · 31/07/2015 09:28

Hey kofi2014 - I got it from Amazon, its the Tutti Bambini one and at the time I bought it was cheaper from there than anywhere else.

It's proper comfy which is good, and a good couple of inches wider than the others I'd been looking at; I have a ginormo-ass so I was worried about it being a tight fit!
