Needle phobes - blood test tip

Sharing this little gem as I'm a complete needle-phobe! Went for my blood test at 12 week scan app. and just as the nurse tightened the strap round my arm she dropped something which left the strap on for 2-3 minutes before the blood test. I didn't feel a thing, literally! Afterwards she said its probably because she left the strap on for longer than usual. So... Yesterday I had to have bloods taken and explained I'm needle phobic but if she could leave the strap for a couple of minutes that really helps me. Once again I didn't feel a thing! It is definitely working for me and I'm not even worried about the next one now.

Hope this helps!

I'm not a needle phobe but lately every blood test I've had has taken so much longer than usual because my blood refuses to leave my body by the looks of it and it really hurts as the needle has been left in for a while so I will definitely be trying this Grin thank you!

I cant be a needlephobe lol like frills I am almost impossible to bleed and it takes at least 5 attempts and then I'm usually sent up to the hospital to get it done and they have the same problem lol one of my friends (well, I'm friends with both of them) is a terrible needlephobe and when his wife was pregnant the first time, he fainted every single time. The nurses were more worried about him than my pregnant friend ...(they've had 3 kids since and basically - and I don't like this term particularly - his wife told him to "man up and grow a pair". It worked though. I think that after pregnancy you'll be an old pro and it'll help you for when baby has his/her jabs x good luck x
