Pregnancy

Did anyone accurately predict the baby would be early?

I'm 34+4 and for ages I've had a feeling the baby would not wait for forty weeks. A colleague told me your intuition is often right about things like this but I have had such a hard pregnancy that I wonder if it's sort of wishful thinking for the preganancy to be over! Obviously I want baby to stay in as long as necessary, but I wondered if anyone had a feeling and then early baby?

Yes, I was due on the 18th but knew DD would be here on the 10th.

Every told me DS would be early and I was sure they were right. I went to bloody 42 weeks. This time I am ignoring everything and everyone. Was awful waiting as I was so convinced i was going early.

Everyone told me dd would be early. She was. By 2 days. I felt overdue from 38 weeks as I was so convinced she would be so early. I thought of it as a good life lesson. Baby does what baby wants, not me Grin

For some reason I thought I would go into labour at 37+1. 37+6 now and still no sign... My intuition is rubbish! Telling myself now it'll be 42 weeks so anything else will be a bonus Grin

Yes, I told everyone all the time I was pregnant I would go early. I was induced a couple of weeks before my due date (not just to prove my hunch right of course!)

I thought I'd be early and she came nearly 6 weeks early in a way that was close to a dream I'd had repeatedly throughout pregnancy. It was very strange.

I knew I'd be early and DS nearly 4 weeks early (weighing 7lb 3). I'd had bleeding through a lot of my pregnancy and they say that makes early baby more likely.

Next baby they thought was coming at 31 weeks have me the steroids etc and she finally came at 40+6.

But, I absolutely knew first one would be early and assumed second would be

I was convinced I'd feel early (4/5 of me & my siblings were early, the 5th was due date).

DS was a whole 3 days early.

I was convinced dd would be early and she was 13 days late.
I'm trying not to get too hung up on everyone telling me this baby will come early, Sod's law it'll go the same way as last time.

I was convinced I was going to be a couple of weeks early, baby has been measuring bigger and midwife said at 36w I doubt il see you next week as you'll have your baby. But now at exactly 41w no signs of her coming any time soon :( only a week to go at the most, I'm sure she will arrive when she's ready! Xx

I was, but then I did have placenta praevia which meant it was a risky pregnancy, so I'm in no way psychic! DS came at 36+1 but even though I expected it somewhat it was still a massive shock - on time / fully cooked babies are better!

I felt my ds would be early, he always measured a little over and I just had a gut instinct we wouldn't make it to 40 weeks. All I really wanted was to pass 37

37+1 my waters broke, 37+3 ds arrived. Good boy Smile

I've had feelings that baby will be early but I think that's been influenced by the recent births that have happened to friends where 4 babies were early so I'm trying not to think anything of it. I don't fancy being pregnant for 42 weeks then induced though.

I had a feeling with both my pregnancy and was right both times. Thought my first would be born at 30 weeks, came at 23 weeks. My 2nd I had a feeling would come 5 days after my stitch was removed and I was right!

I started preparing 3 wks before my due date with people flapping around going "you've got aaaaaages!". DS was 2 wks early - I was ready, everyone else panicked Grin

Yep, I told sil I thought it was going to be early. My ds came a month early because I had pre-eclampsia.

DC1 was born at 42+5, but I had a strong feeling DC2 would be early.
She came at 37 weeks.

I was told by Everyone in my family that I would go over - nope - my DD was born 39+6 at 23:52 (so 8 minutes early lol) - not sure about this pregnancy. I keep thinking he's either going to be horrendously early (because of previous problems) or because he is measuring big...and is a boy that he's going to be a 42-weeker... I want to be in the 5% of due date reachers lol
