Pregnancy

Either 8wks or 12wks, difference in symptoms?

This is my 3rd pregnancy, my youngest is only 11 months (I'll tell you this in case you think it will 'decrease/increase some symptoms). I can't remember when my last period was but I do remember mid April I had a one day period, I still had to use a tampon but the next day nothing! Well anyway being busy with kids I completely forgot about it.

So, mid June I stood up fast and had shooting pains in my pelvic region , instantly I knew I was pregnant, without doing a test, because I had this type of pain with my other pregnancies. (Does anyone get this pain, and can you remember when yours started so I have an idea of how far I'm gone?

Also I do not have sore boobs, but is this because I already have milk in them?

I feel sick but have been feelin. This way since end of June, I'm exhausted but that's still no ways of telling how far I am.

I have a can in 2 weeks and I'll get the date then but it's driving me crazy not know!

Does my one day period (but still using a tampon) sound like spotting ?

Can anyone tell me (if hey remember) the difference in their symptoms between a 8&12wks?

Oh also, I've seen the midwife and she said she could feel my uterus above my pelvic but that might be because this is my 3rd, she tried to hear for the heart beat but nothing Sad does this mean I can be no more than 8 weeks?

Sorry this is so long but I'm going to combust if I don't k ow soon Confused thanks ladies xx

I'm surprised you haven't been referred for a scan sooner than that, OP. Can you ask for a referral via your GP / midwife? I may be totally wrong here but I thought if there is absolutely no certainty of dates or LMP that an early scan is the norm to make sure you are given appropriate care for your stage of pregnancy (e.g. to prevent you missing your 12 week scan window).

For what it's worth, when I was 8 weeks I was extremely nauseous / sick. All day. I'm now 11+1 and the nausea has eased slightly, only to be replaced by extreme exhaustion.

Hope you get an answer soon Flowers

Thank you, I don't know why it's driving me mad not knowing Confused it's not like I'm not busy with the other kids lol, I just want to know ????.

With my first I was finishing my degree so didn't really have time to spot the symptoms and with my second I had HG but none of that yet ,(fingers crossed, with my second it started say dot!)

I started with the sickness at 7-8 weeks and for me it just got worse - I was sick up until 30 weeks though so probably worst case scenario xx

Can you afford a private scan? Mine was only around £50 and will give you a clearer idea.

Did your midwife talk about your scan date? I thought they could only do the fold measurement before 13 weeks so if they suspect you might be that far along they should be getting you in for a scan asap?

Price up private scans (I found one for about £60 but it probably depends regionally) but I really think you should be getting an nhs one and be pushing your midwife for it.

I have a scan for the 23rd, apparently the max you can having the dating scan and check for any abnormalities is 14wks? X
