Have a c-section booked in 10 days time.. Have a pre op booked this week.

What does it involve? How long will it take? It's at 10am and have another appointment elsewhere at 2pm..

Mine was to sign the consent forms, talk through the procedure and the admin, swab for MRSA. They put me on the machine to check the DTs' heartbeats and then gave me the steroid injections (that I should have had far in advance but had been missed). If they're running to time you should be in and out in about 30 mins. Think they dipped urine and did blood pressure too.

I had mine on Weds. The appointment took 5 minutes, they did two MRSA swabs (one nose and one groin) and gave me my pre-op medicine to take the night before and the morning of the op. They didn't listen to baby's heartbeat, test urine or check blood pressure. I think it must vary from hospital to hospital.

I had mine this week, it was basically just a normal midwife appointment coupled with a talk through what it going to happen and some form filling. Consent forms will be done on the day. You should have plenty of time.

Oh yes, forgot about the antacid. I should have said - mine was a multiple pregnancy so counted as high risk so there might have been additional steps.
