Tailbone pain in late pregnancy

On Tuesday and Wednesday I was on a course at work, sitting in a firmer chair than usual. I noticed my tailbone started to feel quite sore, a bit tender and achy, and I had to really sit up and forward to ease it. I'm just over 35 weeks now. Today I'm at home and sitting on the ball so not felt the pain yet.

Is this just a normal thing at this stage, rather than any kind of labour sign? My MW mentioned that the tailbone has to move during labour which is what triggered my thoughts. I've had a very easy pregnancy so far, no pelvis issues and quite a small bump, but presumably some discomfort in the later stages is to be expected. However my concern is that the baby is still breech so as well as it being too early for it to arrive, I am most likely to need a CS. So if this was a potential sign of labour I'd probably need to be going to hospital sooner rather than later.

I'm sure it's just me being paranoid and most likely just chair related, but thought I'd check as I'm still in denial that there's actually going to be a baby . Earlier today I also had brief period like pains, but not enough on their own for me to worry about.

Reassure me please so I can go back to pretending it's not happening Wink

I guess it's just normal then Wink. Had a sore back today also which panicked me. But it's gone after a bath so guess it's just pregnancy pains, not labour pains. Phew.

I think its quite common, I had it in late pregnancy too. Might be worth just mentioning it at your next midwife appointment for some reassurance.

Thanks, not seeing her for a couple more weeks I think but I will mention it. I suspect that because I've not suffered so far, I'm just reading too much into my body finally falling apart.

I have had this and it tends to be when I am sat in a firm chair for a long time. Im being more aware of my posture when sitting now and this seems to prevent it.
