Not being weighed at booking

Anyone else not been weighed at their booking appointment?

The midwife just looked at me and said "your BMI's obviously fine" and carried on with the form-filling.

Just a little concerned as, if they haven't got a baseline weight, they won't know how much I've put on, so won't be able to tell me if it's too much - and isn't too much weight gain associated with gestational diabetes etc?

Pretty sure I was weighed at booking when I was pregnant with DS, but I couldn't swear to it.

I wasn't, but thats because I was able to tell her my weight (did it that morning myself).
However, she's not weighed me since, nor asked for my weight, so perhaps its not something they keep track of?

Nope I wasn't on either of my pregnancies. I didn't even know it was a thing!

Don't think I was weighed at any point in the whole pregnancy. They did the bump measurements later on but no weigh-ins.

Never weighed for any of my 3 at any point during my pregnancy

It's obviously normal then - thanks! It's amazing how little I remember from midwife visits with DS.

I wasn't weighed at booking in but I was weighed at first scan - along with everything else, I was there for 3 hours and scan lasted 5 mins!!

Been weighed once (they use it to calibrate some of the blood tests at the 13 week stuff.)

I though I was a bit overweight and they'd make an issue of it - they haven't at all. Mw say she just eyeballs people and will only say something if she thinks someone is drastically under or over. Just got told to live life normally and healthily. So far the weight I've put on seems to be all bump and boob - I'm not worried about it.

There's not much good data that associates too much weight gain with negative outcomes actually (unlike the large amount of data on too little gain if you're underweight to start with.)

Was weighed at booking in then at 12 wk scan as it forms part of the NT test but not since then and I'm 34 wks now.
If someone was clearly very overweight it might be monitored closely but there isn't really much different they would do for someone within normal limits.

I was weighed at booking but that was at my own request as I knew I had a high BMI and wanted to discuss it. I was also weighed at 12 week scan as part of the combined screening. No one has weighed me since and no reference has been made to weight gain or loss in my case!

Mw almost didn't weight me, just said "you seem fine" but I said that my bmi was 30 last time so I needed a glucose tolerance test so she weighed me again. I was still on 30 so had the gtt again. She just said that I didn't look that high

I think they try not to make an issue about weight unless you're over or underweight quite significantly, which they probably can tell by looking at you. And I wouldn't worry about gestational diabetes not being picked up - if you have to provide regular urine samples, they'll be able to tell from that whether glucose is becoming a problem.
