Is this just back pain or early labour?

36 +4 unbelievable back pain today. Have had back issues on and off (slipped disc) for years. This is in lower back all day long with some respite from heat. But it s no coming in waves or contractions so has it anything to do with labour o is it just m crummy back?

It may not be related, but I mentioned back pain when I went to the doctor for a routine check up...He said labour would probably start soon.....and that night it did. DD was born a week before EDD...

I had bad back pain at around 35 weeks, had to lay over a birthing ball with a hot water bottle on my back and it turned out to be a nasty UTI. Worth getting your urine checked.

lower back pain was my first sign of early labour, but it was very mild. This could be totally unrelated esp if you've had back problems b4. Try not to worry yourself, but get prepared just in case!

I've had horrible lower back pain/period like cramps for the last 3 days. Sometimes its for hours on end, and sometimes it comes and goes in half hour slots..
I'm 36+1, had mw yesterday and she said I have protein in my urine but bp fine. Hope its not an infection! Sad
But I also lost my mucus plug last night, could this also be it?

I also started with excruciating back pain. It only got worse over the following 36 hours, then baby was born back-to-back. Doesn't mean it'll be the same for you though. Good luck.

My lovely little boy was born at 12:48am this morning via epidural and forceps. 4 weeks early but worth all the pain.
I hope your little one will be welcomed into the world soon

I git an infection due to the waters breaking early but I'm feeling better now. Just needing the wee man to pick up on his feeding.
He cant latch properly and on the rare occasion that he does he won't suck Sad so currently having to express and give him that in a syringe and then feeding him a bottle. He's still not even managing 22ml every 3 hours though, poor wee soul
