I was always going to be consultant led through pregnancy as i have had a gastric band never had plans for midwife led unit.

However i didn't realise that minor issues i had with my kidneys when i was younger would come back to bite.

At 16 weeks i had traces of protein in urine, at 17 weeks there was lots of blood, protein and ketones. Kidney function tests on this day came back ok. Today (21+3) again quite a bit of blood (++) and protein (++++) blood pressure is good at 102/66 so nice and low.

I'm being reffered to a renal specialist but am worried as pre-eclampsia is being discussed, does anyone have any positive stories or experience, feeling scared

I can't re beer exactly what my urine tests were showing but know I had this lots. Was treated for kidney infection cations etc. turned out after a scan my little girls was lying oddly and managing to squash the tube from my kidney to bladder.
Mostly this was ok, and certainly everything was ok for me and returned to normal. Hope you have a good outcome too.

I had +++ protein and high blood pressure 2 weeks ago so got sent to the the hospital for further checks. Even +++ 'wasn't diagnostic' for pre-e and had vanished a week later, as had the high BP & everything's fine.

I realise yours has persisted and is not the same as my flash-in-the-pan. Obviously am not a dr, but it seemed that the hospital can tell if it's the 'right' kind of protein for pre-e or not. For me they did a blood work up too check for infection among other things.

I did find that the drs didn't explain everything in the notes that clearly, so if you can get your GP, consultant or whoever you can grab to go through the whole lot in detail because they may have thought it was X for a while and are now considering Y or perhaps Z as more likely. Or at least what would be diagnostic for pre-eclampsia - e.g. 'XX protein with a BP of YY' - so you know how far off it you are.

Really hope you get good news!
