just that really. They still go for quite a bit on eBay. Is there another version maybe?

My 7 month old has had the glow sea horse since Xmas and it really helps to settle him, I recommend. It is on Amazon

Just checked, it is the fisher price soothe and glow sea horse, it's about £20 and has been well worth it for us

There was a thing about the glow seahorse over heating so I threw ours out.
My dd1 was bella the butterfly from slumber buddies range on Amazon.
Dd2 is four months and I just bought her the Betty bee one from the same range and she's now going down awake in her cot and going to sleep with no crying.

We previously used White Noise apps on our phones. They were free I think.

I recommend Ewan though, worth every penny.

Slumber bear, worked brilliantly with DC1.

Thanks, I'll look these up, my phone would be ok for emergencies but then I'd be stuck with no phone to use mumsnet on!

There is a fisher price giraffe on Amazon that is the replacement for the seahorse with the fire issues. I just got one and it's adorable!

I got a Ewan but ended up using YouTube mostly for lullabies and harp music. Don't think Ewan is as invaluable as he's cracked up to be.

Get a slumber buddy! They're ace! Comes in a frog or butterfly (we've got froggy). One of the best things we bought and still use it now for 2.5 ds who loves the stars and moon that project out the top.

3 different light colours
A heartbeat noise (a swooshy sound similar to white noise)
About 6 different soothing songs (although 2 are rainforest and tide crashing on shore)
And the music/lights stay on for 30mins, unless the battery is going but the thing cleverly cuts the lights sooner than 30mins to conserve the battery. Battery life is pretty good actually.

Oh also has 2 or 3 volume settings.
