jalapeno bites - cravings and confessions

I am 15 weeks pregnqnt with baby#2.
Friday night my OH and I went out for dinner and I ordered a side of jalapeno bites, the ones that are a baked jalapeno stuffed with cream cheese and covered in breadcrumbs.
Last night I was home alone with the baby asleep and had two I'd brought home as leftovers. Not satisfied I ordered some to be delivered by a local pizza place. I had to spend over £10 so ordered three portions and ate them all!
Tonight I can think of nothing else. I have searched every online supermarket and found I can buy them in Tesco, Sainburys and Morrisons. I am obsessed! Anyone else getting cravings on the same scale? I think I have a problem!!!!

Haha, I ate jalapeños out of the jar with my first and this time I'm really enjoying them again, can't handle really spice food normally. My cravings this time haven't been as bad yet (I'm 21 weeks), last time I cried over wanting a McDonald's!

LorryHen Sun 31-May-15 22:55:57

I ate jalapeños out of the jar too! It really didn't agree with me though.

I'm obsessed with potato too. I've been offering to cook dinner so that I can cook some herby new potatoes in the microwave and eat them before dinner. My OH hasn't found me out yet but it's a matter of time hahaha

Fear not! You can get them in Lidl in the freezer section. I regularly ate an entire box as an after work snack when I was pregnant. blush

Oh I see you've got them in other supermarkets too. Well the Lidl ones are pretty good. Funny to see someone else craving the exact same thing!

Not even lying, my mouth is watering at the thought of them jalapeños!!! They're amazing right?? I love extra spice in everything right now. I've made a big batch of veg soup and can't eat it without lots of habernero hot sauce. It has to literally burn my mouth or I'm no satisfied! I'm 15 weeks preg too smile

Has anyone had the ones from Burger King? They are amazing! (I know that's a bit gross...but...om nom nom).

MummyPiggy87 Mon 01-Jun-15 00:22:17

And there in!! Lucky DH is asleep haha. These are from Asda OP x

HazleNutt Mon 01-Jun-15 06:59:37

not jalopenos, but I had a massive craving for tomato juice this time - 2 litres per day at least. And one day, when Dh came home lugging another crate, I just looked it and said 'Nah..'

Cherryblossomsinspring Mon 01-Jun-15 07:15:51

I had duck spring rolls for breakfast every day for a week when I was about 8 weeks. blush

I'm 12 weeks and loving ice-cold fanta- has to be in a can and straight out the freezer.
I'm eating 3 bean Mexican soup every day for lunch I always think I'll have something different today and then get to 11am and start craving the soup.
I had a real thing for chip shop curry sauce for a few weeks that stopped on Friday (thankfully for my waistline) ate some of meal and decided it was in fact pretty rank.

teejayem Mon 01-Jun-15 07:37:28

Bovril. Out of the jar, and then on toast with a side of hula hoops. Pretty much all I ate first trimester. Salt was king!
Third trimester it's been sweet dairy things. Chocolate eclairs, magnum ice creams, milky bar. I hadn't eaten a cream cake for about 15 years until about a month ago and it seems I am making up for it. (I have them at breakfast...)

OTheHugeManatee Mon 01-Jun-15 07:48:00

Cheese and crisp sandwiches here. And Herta frankfurters for breakfast, cold, out of the pack confused

scarednoob Mon 01-Jun-15 07:48:13

M&S do lovely jalapeño bites!

I haven't really had any cravings - apart from diamonds, which I keep telling the OH, but he doesn't seem too keen on listening...!! - but have been so much hungrier than normal.

At first I really went off sweet things and couldn't face chocolate, but loved crisps, cheese, peanuts. Apparently salty cravings means a boy. Right. Then I changed to fancying sweet things. Which apparently means a girl. So that old wives tale got properly debunked!

bugoven Mon 01-Jun-15 07:51:37

piggy you are only doing what I would have done if I had any. Am now thinking I may need to pop into burger king too.

bugoven Mon 01-Jun-15 07:53:40

wishful M&S ones. I bet they're not just any jalapeno bites. Maybe I could buy some from every available source to compare. What a good plan grin

scared I have never tried that soup but may have to now as it follows the Mexican theme!

bugoven Mon 01-Jun-15 07:55:02

Sorry got my posters mixed up then. Probably due to jalapeno withdrawal related mind fog.

scarednoob Mon 01-Jun-15 08:00:07

Nope, you could have been (or bean, haha) talking to me too, 3 bean soup, bean chilli - bring them all on!

Frolicacid Mon 01-Jun-15 13:31:05

Just be thankful that you're craving food! I'm utterly obsessed with wanting to eat bath sponges!

MissTwister Mon 01-Jun-15 13:52:34

I have never had them. Now I want them so bad.

lunalovegood84 Mon 01-Jun-15 14:02:58

Frolicacid- I had a stage of that too. Are your iron levels down? With me it was definitely linked to low iron, a few weeks of iron tablets sorted that out. I was obsessed with a particular sponge that had an exfoliating side with bigger holes. Actually bought one solely for sucking water out of it.

craftynanny Mon 01-Jun-15 14:13:15

oh God I am desperate for some of these jalapeno bites you're all talking of! One day I fancy sweet cakes, ice lollies and donuts to suddenly only wanting really salty everything, crisps. really sharp and spicy soups and Chinese type dishes..also Doritos and salsa!smile
I had those jalapeno bites YEARS ago at a party and couldn't find then anywhere. Now its sounds as if they're everywhere!!

loveulotslikejellytots Mon 01-Jun-15 14:21:40

Anything salty. And anything rubbish hmm pot noodles, KFC chips with gravy, white bread marmite sandwiches. I'm limiting myself to a couple of the above a week. I wish i could crave something like cucumber!! Oh and the R Whites lemon ice lollies!
