So due date is today. Had a sweep done on friday was told that baby's head is fully engaged (but has been for a few while now) and was 2 cm dilated and had a bloody show and lost mucus plug since then. I just want baby out now, but I know he'l come when he's ready. Had very hot curry last night and all I got was a burnt mouth :( been bouncing on ball today, drinking pineapple juice and had a walk, had some bh but nothing major. Just wanted to know if anyone else is the same?

In fairness it's an estimated due date, not a definite.

I had no signs on my due date either, until 7pm when water broke and contractions started immediately! I don't think you can always tell when things are about to kick off Grin

Thanks for your replies!! still no sign of baby, i think it's best to just think he won't come for another week and anything before then is a bonus. Aw good luck with your sweep chickenfillets, hope it gets things started for you :) mine was very rough so I hoped it would encourage baby to get moving but no joy so far! Is it true that bouncing on a birthing ball only encourages baby to move down in preparation for labour?

My due date tomorrow. Eeeek.
Been offered a sweep tomorrow too.
I've had terrible back pain on and off for the last few days.

I had my daughter a year ago and nothing happened until my 2nd sweep at 41 weeks. Mild contractions started pretty much straight away, I got to the hospital at 7 and she was delivered by 7.10. No pain relief and I felt fab afterwards, I was induced with my first and was amazing compared to that. I believe because she was just ready.

So I've decided to just let baby come whenever she feels like it, I think bouncing on the ball gets baby into a better position for birth, hope baby is here in your arms ASAP. Exciting times xxx

Good luck ladies! So close now.

I'm not due until June 1 but I feel so utterly cooked now that I'm hoping he'll be early.

What does the sweep entail, if you don't mind me asking?

The due date is pretty meaningless. It's just a guide to care. Babies come somewhere between 37 and 42 weeks. They are not late until you are 42+1! You also can't start labour. All of the curry, pineapple, sex things are myths and research shows they don't work. With all that in mind, you may as well do what you want, eat what you want, watch what you want and know that the baby will come some time in the next 2 weeks. Smile
