Leaving Hamper for maternity leave - ideas??

Hi all,

Hope it's ok to post here but I thought seeing as all of us will be in this situation ourselves that you'd be the best to ask!

Myself and 3 other colleagues all use the same beauty therapist and she's leaving the end of next week to go on maternity leave. We may not see her (in that capacity) again as she has to give up her room but regardless we've all to come to like her and so I suggested a little leaving gift.

We will have £30-£40 approx to spend and I was thinking along the lines of a hamper filled with mummy and baby gifts but I keep drawing a blank with what to put in it!

Because of what she does for a living I didn't want to get her crap smellies when she's got loads herself probably!!!

Any tips would be gratefully received! (She doesn't know the sex either)

Thanks!!

My usual hamper (that always goes down really well) contains:

  • nappies
  • bum wipes
  • bum cream
  • magazine for mum (once that baby is here, she won't have time for a book, but a magazine can be easily picked up and put down again)
  • plaster/clay set so they can have an imprint of the baby's hand or foot
  • magazine for dad
  • in case of siblings: small toy for them

I'd get a pack of sleepsuits, some muslins, some chocolate, a small Lamaze toy. Things like that.

Great ideas from PP. I would also add some Kneipp Orange bath oil. I was given some after DD was born. It was brilliant.

Who wants nipple cream as a gift from customers! Seriously?

I wouldn't be offended, especially as part of a hamper but that's just my opinion.
