Weight gain so far...Anyone care to share your digits?

I'm new to mumsnet so I hope I'm posting in the right place...

I'm currently 17+3 weeks pregnant with my second boy and finally over the nausea stage where I seemed to eat whatever I could just to feel better!! I constantly felt like I had a hangover everyday and the taste in my mouth was unreal at times!

I did gain a few pounds between week 4 and 14 because of it but because of my first pregnancy I seem to be thinking about weight gain and what's normal a lot more than maybe I should be?

My bmi with my first was already in the 'overweight' category, at only 4ft 11 I started at around 9st10 and I didn't batter an eyelid about what I looked like during the pregnancy, until my ds was born and I refused to have any photos taken of me with him...My biggest regret!!! All I know is that when ds was 6 weeks old I went back to slimming world weighing in at 11st. It took me a long time but I got to my target weight of 8st2 and I have hovered around that for a year or so.

We went on hols last sept, then had xmas and so I found out I was pregnant weighing 8st 8 - Considered a 'healthy' bmi but only just!!

So here I am, still going to Slimming world when I can face it, still trying to stick to plan most days but totally enjoying way too many syns most days!

So here's my digits:

17 + 3
Start weight - 8st 8
Current - 8st 13
Gain = 5lbs.

My midwife didn't even weigh me at my 16 week appoint ans I won't see her now until 28 weeks so i'm asking in here...Only if you want to share....

Thanks for reading!

I'm 23 weeks and have gained 10lb in total so far.

Starting was 9 stone 7 and I'm now 10 stone 3. I'm 5ft 8.

I've only gained on bump and boobs so just letting it happen. I'm trying to focus on my 5 a day, my water and some exercise rather than what I weigh.

Midwives don't seem to do weighing now. I think as long as you're looking after yourself and eating good food it's all good. I don't think there is a normal.

Thanks for your reply!

I was running up until last week but I've stopped now due to pelvic pain, I just need to get my butt in gear and start something else!

27 weeks and have gained 13 pounds. MW told me they dont weigh or advise on weight gain now!

According to a pregnancy book I have it should be roughly
1st trim 4-5lbs
2nd trim 12-14lbs
3rd trim 12-14lbs

32 and I'm lighter than pre preg by a lb or 2 thanks to hyperemesis. I was obese to begin with though, such a nice word that Grin

I'm 16+5 and I have lost 4lb overall to date.
I lost 7lb between weeks 5 and 12 but have since regained 3lb of it. I had no appetite in the first trimester but now my appetite is almost insatiable.

I was also obese to begin with, I'm also type 2 diabetic which stops me eating much chocolate, cake and ice cream etc.

I've lost 2kg (4.5lbs) since I got pregnant - I'm 20 weeks tomorrow.

19+5 and have gained 10lbs. Didn't put any weight on in the first trimester so that is just in the last 7 weeks.

Btw: I am within normal BMI.

19+3 and gained 11 pounds. I figure if I can do the same in the next 20 weeks then it shouldn't be too hideous...

It's different to normal weight gain tho as I've probably gained 2-3lbs on my boobs and the rest on my stomach and hips

32 weeks my post should say. The frustrating thing is now that I've got my appetite back and am now long being sick every day I cant manage much anyway as baby is taking up too much room or I get heartburn!

29 weeks and have gained 2 1/2 stone, I had a BMI of 25 to start and no one is concerned. I do not look 'fat' and my breasts and belly have got big.

I'm 19+1 and have gained 3lbs. At booking, my BMI was 32 (gah!), so I have been careful to avoid too much of a gain.

It's interesting to see what everything such as placenta, fluid and baby weigh by 40 weeks. Think it's around a stone

Interesting to read all the different gains and even losses, just goes to show that one book says is considered 'normal' is not often the case!

I just hope I can keep this up, I do have my treats but hopefully my food is healthy so i'm keeping the gains to just baby weight hopefully.

Thanks everyone for taking the time to reply!

Started at 4'11" and 53kg.

Was at 59.5kg by 12 weeks, having been spared any morning sickness, but having been STARVING and utterly exhausted for the entire first trimester.

Now 26 weeks, and still about 60kg. I got my second trimester energy boost at about 16 weeks, followed very quickly by reflux and a total inability to fit a whole meal in.

I worried like crazy about the huge first trimester weight gain, but I'd be struggling to gain weight this trimester, so now I'm very glad to have been able to live off my hump!
