My DP has sickness and diarrhoea, my 8 month old DS has diarrhoea, I'm about 5 weeks pregnant, will I be ok if I catch it? I'm worried because it's so early on

I caught a nasty diarrhoea bug when about 7 weeks pregnant with my second, all turned out fine. If you do get it just stay hydrated, dioralyte rather than just water as it replaces salts as well. Good luck!

I'm 6 weeks & have the most horrific bug at the moment - DH is following me around the house with bleach. I couldn't keep anything down yesterday but everything I've read says there is no risk to bub from Norovirus.

Just make sure you stay hydrated- that's the most important thing.

At this point the foetus is taking almost nothing from you, so just make sure you stay hydrated. Being sick is normal for many early pregnancies, so a bug won't be that different.

In any case, practice excellent / over the top hygiene if you don't want to get it as well.

I have just caught a horrible tummy bug, which has actually turned out to be a godsend since I've been sooo constipated for weeks! Grin
Just make sure you stay well hydrated.

If you catch it and you are worried about dehydrating. I THINK (check with GP or pharmacist) that it is ok to take imodium. Especially in the early days of pregnancy.

I hope you don't get it though because it sounds grim! and early pregnancy is quite grim enough! as you may find out in the coming weeks (some evil women sail through it no worries Smile)

Everything I've read says don't take Imodium. And I've been furiously googling anything that would make me feel better this last 48hrs
