I've been looking on line but am struggling a bit! Any recommendations...? I don't know where to start!

Gemerama Tue 24-Mar-15 18:59:24

Seraphine looks lovely but is pricey. I'm going to get a few dresses from there.

I've just bought some jeggings from dotty p! hmm

I like this website www.purpless.co.uk they also sell via Amazon as well. I am now 37 weeks so I have been wearing things for a while and they wash well. I have also ordered a couple of the nursing tops for when the baby is here.
I also like Asos, Matalan (online) and new look but sizes seem odd either v small or v large.

I'm 36 weeks and the only actual maternity thing I've purchased is some under-bump Jeggings from Mothercare. They weren't the actual ones I wanted when I went in as they didn't have the ones I wanted in stock. So I think I wore them once or twice but didn't find them comfortable around my waist, if I had got a bigger size though they would have been too big. So I ended up giving them to charity!
I've been living in leggings and have gone a size up in those. They're just so easy to wear every day but the only thing is finding longer tops to obviously cover bump and bum.
But I haven't found it a problem really.
For actual maternity clothes I'd like to check out matalan as I remember them having an advert for maternity clothes I believe, and they all looked lovely.
Good luck smile

Its more difficult to find things than I thought it would be. I got jeans from George at Asda that are really nice and a good length. Have ordered a few things from new look today.

Found h&m sizes v small and dp stuff v thin / poor quality.

I liked New Look last time. I'm not quite at the maternity wear stage yet this time, but keeping an eye on what's around. I would like a pair of grey work trousers, maybe slightly cropped so they're good for spring and summer. Anyone seen any? Ideally I'm looking for cheap stuff this time as I never intend to do this again! That purpless site upthread looks interesting. How's the sizing?

Aquarius1 Tue 24-Mar-15 19:23:55

I've got some decent work trousers with adjustable under the bump waist plus a belly band from Vertbaudet - got about 20% off & a free nappy holder too for being a 1st time customer

New Look do multipacks of basic vests, leggings etc. The leggings last remarkably well considering the price, I've got some that are 2 years old!

I'm mainly wearing dresses, long jumpers and cargo trousers. Ebay is good for pricier stuff because it's decent quality, and Jojo clearance is worth keeping an eye on too.

Wineandchoccy Tue 24-Mar-15 19:33:01

The sizing is true to size for Purpless.

This dress is lovely on www.purpless.co.uk/dresses/40-formal-dress-4400-graphite.html

I spent £60 at asda and kitted myself out in basics- 3x 3/4 length sleep tops for home and work, 2x vests for work, 3x vests for around the house, 1 pair over bump jeans and some bigger pants grin

This added to a couple of stretchy skirts from primark (should be mid-calve type but I'm wearing them over bump) bigger size tights and a bigger size coat

Hoping this will last til summer then in going for maxi dresses and belts regardless of occasion!

Grewupinafield Tue 24-Mar-15 19:38:34

The best leggings I found were seraphine and they were about £14. I lived in them when I was pregnant. They were over the bump and so comfy. I think I had 2 pairs and they washed well and I could wear them more than once before they needed washing. They were comfy afterwards too, I had a c section. They don't sag at the knees either like other ones I tried!
I miss being pregnant!

Ooh just looked at that purpless website and the stuff looks lovely and really good prices! I need to remember that for next time!

Gemerama Tue 24-Mar-15 19:47:42

What's the quality of the purpless stuff? Looks nice but prices look so low it seems a bit too good to be true!

Koalafications Tue 24-Mar-15 19:51:13

I have 4 of those dresses Wineand

Gemerama the quality is ok. Not great but not awful. They fit well.

BumWad Tue 24-Mar-15 20:06:22

Leggings and a few tunic type tops. I begrudge spending so much on Mat clothes

ihatelego Tue 24-Mar-15 20:09:06

I don't bother I just wear leggings and cotton/jersey dresses/long tops in an extra size and I'm 36 weeks smile

3rdbump Tue 24-Mar-15 20:16:26

I bought a pack of 3 maternity tops from new look aswell as a maternity coat, a smart top, pair of jeggings, 2 pairs of joggers and 2 pairs of leggings from HKM. I also have 2 long cardigans and thats it! i mix and match them about - cheap and cheerful :D

Alby16 Tue 24-Mar-15 20:26:27

I have literally been living in maternity leggings from next and new look maternity tshirts/jersey dresses. Also got a couple of pairs of river island leggings which have elasticated side panels - not maternity but do the job! They with oversized tshirts or maternity tops from new look and That is me! Didn't want to spend too much on maternity wear so went for cheap and comfortable x

Thanks everyone! I hadn't thought of vertbaduet and have never heard of Seraphine so will definitely check those out. I can't fit in my work trousers already and I'm not even quite 3 months yet shock it's my 4th though so I'm blaming it on that...

Frolicacid Tue 24-Mar-15 20:58:53

So far I have Jeans from next as I'm short and they do petite. A few long sleeve tops from Asos and some of my normal tops with long line vests underneath.
I'm 19 weeks and due in August. Have bought a few t-shits and dresses on e-bay that look massive now but will hopefully do in high summer. Everything has been really good quality and nothing has cost more than £7 with postage smile

Nottalotta Tue 24-Mar-15 21:01:12

I'm 21 weeks and am wearing the larger stretchy end of my wardrobe. My tailored work wear definitely doesn't fit, but my jersey dresses, stretchy pencil skirts are fine.

I bought a nice dress from mothercare similar but twice the price of to the link above.

Question re sizing - I tried the 12, it was fine in general but a bit stretched over my normally small boobs. There were no 14 or 16 in stock. The lady there recommended i get a 16. It is ok, but a bit wide at the shoulder and on the bust. I expect it will be ok as i get bigger. Wonder what size of the purpless dress to order?

Also, tried a 14 in the under bump jeggings - couldntt get them on!

wowiesis111 Tue 24-Mar-15 21:05:03

H&m. Good quality for what you pays quite current on the 'trend' front too if you are so inclined grin

Cockbollocks Tue 24-Mar-15 21:07:25

Asos for most things and Next jeans.

I prefer over the bump stuff!!
