16 weeks but don't feel very pregnant

Title says it all really. I am just over 16 weeks, morning sickness is gone and apart from being tired I feel mostly normal. I can't really even tell if I have a bump as am a bit overweight so just have tummy fat. I am really waiting to feel baby move so I know everything is okay - they say its often not till 18-20 weeks but I've read loads of people say that felt it around now which makes me nervous. Any reassurance out there?

I felt the first stirrings of movement at around 18 weeks. It depends on where your placenta is though, if at the front you may not feel them to later than that.

I think its normal to not feel pregnant at your stage, I certainly didn't. I paid for a scan at 17+3 to find out the sex and for a bit of reassurance

I didn't feel a thing until after my scan - so probably 20 weeks. I remember getting a bit anxious - now my DS is two and incredibly physical and energetic, so please don't worry.

I'm 16 weeks this week too, OP. I was just saying this morning that I don't feel pregnant either. It is strange because I was horribly sick up until a couple of weeks ago and now I feel pretty much nothing at all. Even my food aversions are starting to go away, this morning I had a cup of tea for the first time since falling pregnant!

Try not to worry, I have been told the 2nd trimester feels easy! I have 2 pregnant friends who didn't feel movement until 20 weeks and they are now being kicked to bits :)

Oh, I would say, enjoy the peaceful time! :) I'm 16 weeks too and my back has been killing me for the last few days. It's ok at daytime but I can barely sleep. Tried sleeping on side, pillow btw legs, nothing works! And none of my bottoms fit me anymore cause I was ca BMI 19.5 pre-pregnancy and my bump is quite obvious now.. So having a wardrobe dilemma too :-/

And it is your first baby? It is the first one for me and my consultant told me last week I am unlikely to feel any movements before 20 weeks with the first one. Also my book days the higher your weight the later you are likely to feel the movements. So no reason to worry OP, enjoy and relax! ;-)

Thanks both - I look forward to feeling rubbish again!

Interestingly I had heard the overweight means feeling less movement so looked into this and apparently it's not true. It can be harder to feel movement from the outside - i.e. partners may have to wait longer but it doesn't affect your nerves and feelings on the inside. Makes sense if you think about I guess!

I'm 15 weeks & don't feel very pregnant, I have a small bump & in the early days had horrific morning sickness, to which I was hospitalised, now that's gone I feel the same. You know it's there but don't feel it.
Hang in there though, we'll feel something soon ??

I'm 22 weeks and only started feeling pregnant in the last 3 weeks probably. Before that I had barely any symptoms (once the first trimester nausea left), no noticible bump, and I didn't feel any movement.

Now the bump is more obvious and I can feel some movement, but I have no symptoms of any kind. Guess I'm very lucky and long may it continue!
