When to tell mum I'm pregnant?

Hello, I've asked this before but at the time I was only 6wks. I am now 11+3wks had my dating scan today. Me & hubby decided we would tell family once we've had our dating scan.

Should I wait until the weekend when I go over to my mums to tell her? Or should I tell her tonight as she's coming over for dinner?

Also any suggestions on how to give her the surprise?
Was originally thinking with a pic of the dating scan but unfortunately the picture is very blurry.

Any suggestions would be great xx

I waited until 20 weeks. Both times. Mainly as my mother fusses so much I couldn't have had that an extra 2 months!

Tell her tonight. Put a single bun in the oven then ask her to go and get the dinner out the oven.
See if she twigs.

I told my mum when I was only about 4 weeks. We had gone to visit and she kept offering me food. Would you like eggs or bacon or macaroni or soup or or or...and I felt so sick that I had to go upstairs to get away from her! So I told her and she was over the moon.
Second time ds told her mummy has a baby in her tummy at about 6 weeks. I can't keep a secret from my mum!

I made my mam a card on moon pig with the pregnancy test on the front saying "congratulations your new grandchild is on its way"...she cried her eyes out and still has card on display

If you're keen to tell her, why wait til the weekend? Unless there will be other people there that you want to tell at the same time...

I just told mine straight so no imaginative suggestions Sad but love Purple's bun idea!

Gave my mum (and dad) and joint gift for mum's birthday implying it was tickets. Was a positive pregnancy test. We'd been trying for 20months so she was delighted. I was 14dpo and 2 days before my missed period (risky but was my first whiff of a BFP in 20 long hard months). LO now kicking me at 30+5 and it's been a LOOOOOOONG 30 weeks but really glad had mum all along.

With my first baby my mom guessed and so did my MIL....but both waited for us to announce it. With second and third I showed them the pregnancy tests....my MIL thought it was a thermometer so didn't know what we were showing her!! Enjoy the special moment of announcing it. It's such a special time for you all. Smile

Do you have a spare calender in the house? You can always put your due date on, with the words 'Officially a Grandma'. :)

I got my inlaws a cute chalk countdown from ebay (takes a couple of days to come in the post) www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Till-baby-is-born-countdown-plaque-sign-chalkboard-grandparents-mum-to-be-gift-/141224188870?pt=UK_Home_HomeDecor_Accessories&hash=item20e19e1bc6

:) have fun! x
