Can anyone tell me what happens at the 16 week appt. Wondering if it's worth hubby coming. He would have to book the day off on 0 pay

Oh not much happens, blood pressure taken and she will have a listen on the doppler! Will last 10 mins at most! :)

Not much Hun. Blood pressure, Urine check. Midwives do not always listen for a heart beat at this stage, as baby is still really tiny and at times hard to find, it can upset the parents. Pretty boring really Hun.

I never bothered taking hubby after first one they are pretty boring, paper work appointments booked, maybe get to hear heart beat blood pressure and don't forget to take urine sample. My midwife gives me mine back to do fresh one each time I go!!

Thank you, won't bother taking him then! Lol. I've had 4 scans and he has been to 3 of them so I'm sure he won't mind.

This is a good page on the NHS website as it tells you about all the different antenatal appointments you will have and what they will cover: www.nhs.uk/Conditions/pregnancy-and-baby/Pages/antenatal-appointment-schedule.aspx

Did anyone not attend all their antenatal sessions? I've only had one so far. Attended all with my first pregnancy so still remember a lot and have the books still

Depending how far gone you are I'd advised not to miss too many just because you will start measuring you and they can check how baby is growing, plus they can regularly test for urine infections as well.

I didn't take my husband to my 16 week midwife check got my 24 week this week & he's not going to that either. He came to booking appointment, 12 week & 20 week scan. Don't think he will be at any other appointment now until close to due date.
