Pregnancy

Obsessed with the smell of fresh, damp laundry

This might be nothing to do with the fact that I am 33 weeks pregnant as I have always liked the smell of fresh laundry - however in the last few weeks I have become completely obsessed with it.

Every time I go into the cleaning cupboard I have to take a deep sniff of the box containing the laundry liquitabs and I spend ages inhaling in the smell of it when it dries.

I have not had any food cravings at all - just this - is it the pregnancy thing do you think or am I just losing it a bit? :)

why dont you get a laundry smell candle?

i dont think it is weird at all, there are many people who are laundry scent lovers or scent lovers in general.

There is nothing better than nice smelling home. It creates great atmosphere.

I have smell cravings. I love the smell of books and cardboard and really like the smell of cement being mixed!

Me too! I didn't really have any cravings but at 34 weeks I was washing all the new baby things and couldn't get enough of the damp laundry smell. I always liked the smell but now I find myself lingering over the damp washing before hanging it out just having a good sniff. Persil-y goodness!

Try the baby powder yankee candle, bloody addictive!

My smell craving is new sponges and carpets. I actually chew the sponge. I've been caught sniffing carpets more than once too!

I chew sponges as well. Not sure what that's about

Gudgyx

totally agree about the Baby Powder Yankee, I went though 2 large jars of it.

The other great ones to try are Soft Blanket and Fluffy Towels. Soft Blanket is mixture of baby smell and very soft laundry scent.

There is Shea Butter Yankee and Aloe water coming up for spring which might be also wonderful for soft soothing clean scents. I can't wait!

With my 1st pregnancy I was addicted to the smell of Dettol (the strong brown liquid antiseptic/antibacterial stuff) I would clean my lil flat everywhere with it, DP would smell it from the lift as he was returning hm from wrk!! Lol pregnancy does make us rather odd!

The smell of laundry dies the opposite for me, it makes me want to be sick!! I can't stand it. Doing my washing is torture!! Confused any soap smell actually, i can't stand. (So I can't do the dishes atm... Not so bad!) Grin
I am in with the petrol and cement lovers. Also cut grass/autumn leaves weirdly.
