Could this be a miscarriage?

Hi, this is my first time posting on here.
I'm 7weeks pregnant, due for my first scan in Early Jan. last night I went for a wee as normal & when I wiped clean there was very faded (what looked like) old brown blood. I've had a pad in since then but nothing was on there this morning. Just getting abit worried could this be a miscarriage we are going through? I have no cramping or abnormal pain, so abit unsure. Not sure on what to do?
Had some lower abdominal pain last week so went to the EPDU, but everything was fine they found the sack & a heartbeat.
Would really appreciate some advice please.

I've never had this so I'm only advising you from what I've read on here that old brown blood is generally OK and it's red, fresh blood that is more worrying. However, some people bleed a fair bit during pregnancy and come out ok.

At the stage you are at now I had abdo pain but was only stretching pain. Your body has got a lot of growing to do and is prepping for it.

I hope everything works out for you.

Hi... sorry you are feeling so worried, the brown blood isn't necessarily the sign of a miscarriage. There isn't really anything you can do except wait and see, contact your EPU or GP if you get any more pain or bleeding and ask for another reassurance scan. If you've already seen a heartbeat that is very promising!

I know how hard it is, the waiting drives you crazy. Everything crossed for you. I've had losses with no signs whatsoever and 2 healthy pregnancies where I bled and had cramps for the first few months.

There's a lot going on in there, the embryo is growing rapidly and making it's safe little den to develop, sometimes a little bit of your uterine lining is shed and this is completely normal, please try not to over worry. x

Thank you for the responses. That's settled my mind, hardly slept all night due to worrying & doing so much research. Will contact epu if it happens again.

If you've already had an early scan and seen a heartbeat, that is really good news. A bit of brown blood on the tissue is fine too. i wouldn't go back in unless the bleeding gets red. I had a MC earlier this year at 12 weeks and it was unmistakeable, think more like 3-4 pints of blood loss.

Hi! I had two brown bleeds early on in this pregnancy- I had a scan at the EPU at 8 weeks and all was fine and then I bled again at 9 weeks ish- heavy enough to wear a pad. I'm now 34 weeks and my little one is currently shoving her bum in my ribs :) Brown blood is old blood so not as serious (generally) as red blood. I went into A&E for my first bleed and was seen that day in the EPU so if it happens again pop in- even if its just to reassure you! But if you have seen a heart beat then that is only a good thing :) Congrats on your little bean xx

Hi, I had a bleed at 7 weeks it started off brown for about 6 or 7 days and then it was bright red blood I was convinced I had a miscarriage, I was told by doctor to go to have an early scan and it shown baby was fine , and said it was unexplained bleeding. The midwife told me only to be concerned if you pass large clots and experience quite of pain also. Having spoken to my cousin who is a midwife she said it's a lot more common to bleed than ppl think. Hope all is well.

Xx

I had a fairly large bleed at 13 weeks(bright red). Everything was fine. I was told that bleeding alone wasn't an enormous worry (except for me obviously- I was beside myself) and is actually quite common and that it's pain that isn't gone with paracetamol that rings alarm bells.
