What knickers are comfy during pregnancy?

Hi there, anyone got any advice on this? I want to buy new ones anyhow and I was wondering if big knickers might feel more comfy? Or keep them sitting under bump?

I have mothercare over the bump maternity knickers, £10 for 2 pairs, I bought a pack and my lovely mum bought me a pack so that I have a pair on while the rest are in the wash. Decidedly unsexy but so comfy Smile

Granny knickers, I like debenhams the best, but asda ones are cheaper and will do but they don't last as long, (I'm guessing as I couldn't possibly be still wearing a few pairs with a 16 month old Wink)

M&S huge granny pants with no seam. They have a lacy bit along the top which means they don't grab you. Pre baby I was a 12. I bought in size 18 and they are going great guns. Found ditching my usual pants - m&s minis in a 12 - so comfortable! Life changing in fact! Grin

I've got Massive M&S granny knickers! They are so comfy! Normal pants pale in comparison now I'm getting bigger ! I've also found primark maternity leggings surprisingly really thick and comfy!

I hadn't factored in needing big pants Confused

I'm 21 weeks and mine are still fine, just sit underneath my little bump. Is all this to change? Not sure I can bear to wear grannies before the birth.

I'm only 17 weeks so I've just been wearing my stretchier/bigger normal pants, they are getting a bit snug though.

I bought some full briefs from Primark in a size too big, the ones that come in a pack of 4 for like £3... They're bloody huge, I can tuck them in my bra! DH and I had a good giggle at them. I will keep them for when I'm much bigger though!

Same as Banana Toast, I hadn't even considered this, what's wrong with my own ones??

I'm 20 weeks and still perfectly fine in my normal ones, how could giant huge granny ones be more comfortable than normal bikini shaped ones that go under it? Do you hike them up over it??

Baffled!

With my first pregnancy I got under bump ones from Mothercare but hated them when I tried them this time. This time I've just continued with my regular knickers from M&S in a size up.

See how you get on in your normal ones and only go maternity if you need to.

Foggymist- I'm with the others. From very very early on, even before I was showing I took an instant dislike to anything uncomfy around my bump, then when I did get a bump I found my usual ones rolled down and tourniquet under my bump and I absolutely HATED that! I was a size 14 when I got pregnant and bought size 18 huge knickers up to my belly button, which have been so comfy. But now I'm 29 weeks and they are starting to do that rolly down thing again. I'm wondering if to buy size 20, or 22 primark granny knickers next? That's a heck of a jump from size 14! I'll need them Incase it does end up being a c.section for me.

I need big ones for all the Tena Lady I I'm getting through.

Ok, maybe I'm wearing different styles to everyone else! Mine are too small to roll down at all, so hopefully I'll be able to just stick with them the whole time. The thoughts of that much fabric like huge or granny knickers makes me feel claustrophobic just thinking about it!

I just wear a larger size of my M&S shorts.

Thanks for all your feedback. Think i'm going to go shopping and see what I can find... I am very bloated and finding trousers very uncomfortable so looking for maximum comfort.

I bought a few pairs from Asda in a 16 (usually a 10) they are comfy but not too granny like.

I'm with foggymist on this. I'm 28 weeks and still wearing my M&S mini/bikini knickers. I think because they sit nicely under my bump and still fit fine everywhere else I feel very comfortable. I think it has to be either big pants over the bump or ones that sit comfortably below...in between just won't work.

I've got some lovely silly lyrical full briefs from Primark, v comfy.

I've found Primark maternity knickers to be a god send. They're big, over the bump ones and have support (bit like gentle spanx). I liked the feeling of being a bit more held in over my bump.

Be warned... Once you try granny pants you may never go back. My DD is 2 and I'm still wearing them! Wink Comfiest things ever!

I agree, I'm a thong girl and have been for twenty years but the thought of wearing one at the minute. No thank you! Lol

Slippery slope eh? Got myself a 3 pack of granny pants to see how I get on. So far so good!

I have big pants left from my c-section with DS1 and various mini / bikini types. I'm 31 weeks and find the big pants so uncomfortable - they cut into the bump, but any bigger and they would be too big around my pubic area. Minis are great - just sit under the bump. In a bigger size than normal though due to expanding bum.

I got some shorts style pants in a couple of sizes up from TKMaxx, they're pretty Polly and dead comfy. I do need some mahoosive granny pants for my bag just in case I end up with a section. With over bump leggings I don't think I could handle over bump pants too without being uncomfortable.

Another one for granny pants here. I bought some to put in my hospital bag and kept some out to wear now - so comfy! Under the bump ones were getting uncomfortable. Currently 25 weeks.
The ones I bought were Peacocks full briefs in black, pack of 4 for £5, was a size 14 pre-preg and the 14-16 ones fit nicely (however they wont for much longer)
