I have been told our boy is under the 10th centile and the reason is probably down to a low papp-a hormone; though they're not sure. It's nothing I have done and just chance. I don't deink/ smoke/ I eat healthily etc and I have no illnesses to cause this. I therefor have to have an elcs (declined induction due to traumatic one with DD) at 37 weeks or 39 weeks, depending on how he grows. I was just wondering if others have experienced this and their reasons? Also how their babies are now and how did they deliver (if post partum) thanks.

You don't say how far into your pregnancy you are but if they are willing to wait until you are 37+ weeks that's a good sign. My DS was diagnosed with IUGR at a routine 32 week scan. There was a problem with the placenta which didn't have any specific cause. The doctors wanted him delivered within 48 hours by elcs. I wasn't offered induction as they didn't think he would cope with the birth. He was born 4 days after the scan and weighed 3lbs 6 oz. He spent 3 weeks in hospital in total (initially in NICU) and only really needed help to get feeding established. He is now a healthy 3 yo and has so far developed as he should and is now no different in size to his peers. I'm now expecting again and am having lots more growth scans to check baby's growth as a precaution. I hope yours manages to keep growing til he's full term!
