Baby measuring on 95th Centile...

Hi all.
After some reduced movements and pains on Sunday night I attended the Maternity Unit. Baby was all fine. but they referred me for a scan just as a precaution.

I had this scan yesterday and baby seems to have grown a lot! I'm 29 weeks. At my anomaly scan at 22 weeks he was measuring bang in the middle of the chart for everything. Yesterday his leg measurement was still in the middle but his head and belly were way higher up at 95.

I spoke to a midwife and she said I may be sent for a growth scan and glucose test to check for GD. Other than having a mammoth child, is there anything else this could be?

I am aware scans can get it wrong, and she flew through it so maybe it's not totally accurate, but how could he have gone from 50 to 95 in 7 weeks?!

I wouldnt worry. Its probably nothing and he may not even be big when born.

DS was middle of the charts at 20week scan, on top line at 28week scan, born weighing just 7lb2oz, although he was long. The charts assume they all grow at exactly the same rate, which after 20weeks isn't the case, some babies grow faster or slower than they are "supposed" to at certain points, whilst being completely normal and healthy.

This one has done the same (28week scan last week).

I've had GTT, both times and it was clear.

Oh and should say DS was born at 41weeks.

Thank you! It's pretty much what I thought. DH was a bit concerned but I think it's because he likes to have information and up til now it's been a text book pregnancy.

Thanks again!
