Calories in pregnancy

I am just over 6 weeks pregnant with my first baby. I know you don't need to eat much more than recommended daily amount in first trimester, but what if you usually eat less than the recommended 2000 calories? I normally eat about 1400. I'm eating more (though not drinking wine) so I'm probably having about 1500 calories now. Is that enough? Have read conflicting advice online!

Your body will tell you, if you are starving hungry eat more. If your not terribly tall and quite slight you don't meed 2000 caps, even in pregnancy....

To be honest I'd just go with what you feel like. Recommended daily allowances don't take into account the individual.

I just eat when I'm hungry when I'm pregnant & accept any 'cravings' I have. Last time I had a dairy week & a fruit week, I figured it was my body telling me what I needed. This time I'm over half way through & I've only put on half a stone, which given how much choccy I've been eating isn't bad!

I am having cravings already! Crackers and cheese and orange juice. Gone off anything sweet unless it is fruit. I am 5'5 and usually around 125-128lbs. Have eaten the same amount for a couple of years and my weight has been fairly stable.
