Traditional but not old fashioned girls name? Help!

joosiewoosie · 15/11/2014 18:13

I'm currently 31 weeks pregnant with our second child. We already have a DD called Jessica. If we have a boy, we like Thomas /Tom or Joshua/Josh.

If we have a girl we are stuck. We liked Bethany but DH used it in conversation and it came out as Befany, which really put me off! (We do live in a place where our local accent is kind of estuary englush, so I don't want a name which will be too much effort to pronounce properly!)

Any suggestions are welcome! Thank you!

Forgot to say, would like a traditional but not old fashioned name, not a newer name either. Sorry in advance. I am very fussy! X

You could stick with a Shakespearean theme, with Miranda, Juliet, Imogen, Helena or Cressida. I would think carefully before picking Jess and Josh btw.

MarionHaste - why would you hesitate over Joshua (alongside Jessica)? Is it the two Js thing?

I was just imagining calling them across the playground and it's a bit of a tongue-twister. Not that Joshua isn't a lovely name!
