22weeks and last two days have been greeting quite painful in stomach across the middle and low down. Could it just be trapped wind? I know wind is painful but usually higher up around ribs.
It is different to the stabby stretching pains I get more dull achin a bit like period pain.
Any thoughts? Anyone else have something similar?
Didn't realise how uncomfortable I would feel already!

Hi,

I am 19 weeks gone, so a little behind you. Have had a very smooth pregnancy - no morning sickness or anything that goes with it until this week. Had crazy cramps below my waist line, and a very tight feeling on the right side of the bump, enough to keep me awake at night. I was a little concerned as we are due to go way next week and wanted to make sure that would still be ok so I rang my midwife. She asked if I had any bleeding which I hadn't so she explained things are just moving around and making room to fit so pains etc can be expected. Luckily mine only lasted a few days.

Give your midwife a call if you are feeling anxious or worried, you may feel it a trivial question but it is what they are there for.

A women at my antenatal yoga class never had period pains before, but since she has been pregnant she has been getting them and all is well with her pregnancy, she is 30+ weeks.

I have something similar to this, I'm 20+6 and have had this a few weeks. Various sorts of pains but def like the knees described here. Called my midwife and she thought it was round ligament pain.

However I also have pain when I walk in the same place as sciatica, but it's not exactly the same type of pain, also got pain in my hips and down my legs. I googled it and sounded like something which basically they can't do anything about!! Typical! I'm trying not to take paracetamol and have so far succeeded in avoiding it, but it's stopped me sleeping properly and I can only see it getting worse so may have to have the odd paracetamol.

Hope you feel better soon Smile

I've had this with my 2nd pregnancy but also with my 3rd baby this past year. I must have spent the entire pregnancy cramping and aching, straining and struggling. Is this your first baby?
Try not to fret. I took paracetamol more than I would have liked to this last pregnancy. But I was always uncomfortable from start to finish... but elated at the same time of course. A warm water bottle helped too. Are you overdoing it?
I tend to have to walk miles with our kids everywhere. I don't drive and we live in a wonderful part of London where walking is the best form of transportation. BUT during my last pregnancy I really knew that I was walking way too much and this, combined with always being on the go with my other kids and never having downtime, did contribute to the cramping and discomfort, imo. I think I put a lot of strain on myself. Stop and put your feet up. This really, really helps.

Hi
I have had this since Monday
Lower back throbbing just like period pains
Pains down legs like period pains
Lower stomach aching the same.
It's worse when I sit down.
I wanted to go swimming but now I've got a cold!!Sad
Would gentle exercise help?
Yoga stretches?
Hot water bottle is good.

Ps forgot to say I'm 20w. Years ago I had problems with the sacroiliac joint (where the spine meets the pelvis). Very common in women and it felt achy like period pain. It could be this?

Thanks for the replies, it is also worse when sitting so being trying to keep moving. But I also do have SI joint pain. Good suggestion that it could be from that too.

I also realised I started taking my iron again this week and although it is meant to be gentle on the digestive system I do react to iron so perhaps it is that too.

Going to take a hot water bottle soon and seeing midwife for appt I Tuesday so will mention it then. It is first baby but trying not to fret, no bleeding and still feel baby so trying to stay relaxed as possible.

Thanks for the reassurance and sorry to hear some of you are suffering too!
