Decorating?

My husband and I are moving house next week and there is a lot of decorating that needs doing, wallpaper stripping, painting etc nothing too complicated luckily just going to take time. My question is will I be ok to help out? I'm 27 weeks pregnant still really active so not too worried about the physical aspect more the chemicals etc. If we keep windows open area well ventilated and possibly a mask would this pose a risk to the baby?

Yeah, I think you'll be fine. We did something similar in my first trimester, although my husband and my mum told me to get out of the room whenever they were sanding something!

Just take it easy, if you haven't bought paint yet, make sure to buy waterbased paint, which has fewer chemicals in it and also won't smell as much.

I always get the urge to decorate when pregnant. I'm 24 weeks and did the hall, stairs and landing yesterday. DH was v impressed :) It's good exercise but be careful on the ladders.

Physically your body will let you know if your doing to much.

Just to add I decorated my hallway at 35 weeks pregnant (on my own) (my choice) and built 2 sets of flat packed drawers (again by myself ) and moved them to the correc place when built :)

As all above have said you'll be fine with a sensible approach to chemicals and listening to your body. I would add just be a bit careful up and down ladders, I remember being really clumsy around the 30 week mark. That growing bump plays havoc with your centre of gravity Grin
