how long did your post-pregnancy hair loss go on for?

And how much did you lose?

My hair loss has been going on since the start of May and shows no sign of stopping. I've got fine hair to start with, so I'm getting anxious about it fearing turning into a total baldy. Already getting bald spots on the scalp. Is this normal? How long did your hair take to get back to normal? (Had DS mid-Jan.)

I can't remember exactly how long it went on for but I had DS mid-March and at a family party that September my brother commented on my receding hairline! I think by the Christmas it was looking better and pleased to say it's all back and same as before now but expecting it will happen again after DC2 in a few weeks...

Thanks - that's useful. I thought it only went on about a month or so and was starting to get quite freaked out Shock

I have heard castor oil, rubbed into the roots overnight and washed out in the morning can work wonders for hormone-thinned hair - thickening it up and preventing further shedding. Apparently everyone does it in central/Eastern Europe after childbirth.
Worth a try?

I'm actually going to stock up (currently in the drop zone for pfb).

I had my Ds in October and my hair is just starting to recover now. I have lots of short whispy bits all round my hair line!!

Had dd early Jan. Started losing clumps around May but it's finally starting to slow down now. Unfortunately the reverse problem is in full swing on my legs which are permanently covered in wooly hair tights!
