hi - just that really - how do you get out of bed?! i feel so massive and my SPD and general bump is so sore it is just a nightmare, and i need to get out of bed 2 or 3 times a night to go to the toilet! OH is often in the spare room which makes it easier (or less embarrasing at least!) but if hany one has any top tips that would be great! x

I am only 34 weeks but have the same problem I just ROLL I have fallen out of bed a few times trying to get up for the loo. Just laugh it off. My hubby has to hoist me up from the sofa some nights. (was a size 6 now a size 12)

Keeping your knees together when you move can help the pelvic pain (but is much easier said than done!). I lie on my side, push up to seated with my arms and then swing legs over the edge of the bed. Then follows a few seconds of assessing to make sure I'm not going to wet myself when I get up. Then I usually take one step and then stop because I get a shooting pain in my left hip up my back every time I put weight on it. Then I get brave and manage to hobble to the toilet. Fun ain't it?! If it wasn't for the fact that it'll all go away when baby's here I think I'd be a mess by now!

Saw a physio last week and this is what she told me (has helped with 39 wks SPD)

Lay on your side facing the side you get out of
Simultaneously lower your legs over the side together and push your torso up with your arms.

Key is keeping your legs together, and not using your abdominal muscles as that can potentially cause separation.

I hope that makes sense?

My waters went when I heaved myself over while trying to roll over in bed. I thought I'd weed a little bit (was tiny at first) and actually debated whether I could be arsed to get up and do anything about it Blush Blush Blush I did
