Pregnancy

39+1..... Worrying about going over

Saw my mw last night. Effectively an extra visit as she is on annual leave from 8-14 Aug (Im due 10/08) and I have been case loaded by her since 16 weeks at my local birth centre. She was hoping I would be early so she can deliver me (and has even said she will come in if I go in) but I now dont see her til 41 weeks when induction will be booked. Went through all sorts of emotions last night, fear, upset, nerves....

Have been in "early labour" for a week - 1cm dilated and 70% effaced but nothing else much happening. Have had aches pains etc but nothing. Tried sex, rl tea, curries, ball....

Please no baby will come in own time etc lol. I am likely to implode if I hear that once more! Friend has offered clary sage oil to assist?

Anyone else had similar or have any advice?

Get power walking! I wanted my dd3 to come so I went on a massive walk with my girls and they are fast. Labour started the next morning.

I'm convinced it was that as I wasn't due yet (was having a sweep the next day then being induced the following day due to GD)

Hi mrs - I think I've chatted to you before, I'm your due date buddy.

I had my daughter at 39+1 so am bloody annoyed now today that this pregnancy is longer (I really expected it to be shorter- I was convinced!)

I'm seeing midwife tomorrow and then have reflexology in the afternoon, this will be my 4th session and I have no idea whether it's done anything but I guess it can't hurt, except in my wallet area!

I have been having BHs of varying length and strength for ages (2/3 wks?) - just ignoring them now really. I lost mucous plug or at least a lot of the plug 2 weeks ago and then nothing.

Am fed up to the max, had mad burst of nesting last week and got the house perfect, now I'm knackered again and it's getting grotty again!

No advice but I feel your pain. Sad

Oh also the 2 people I know IRL due on same day as me both had their babies last week.

Someone told me today that apparently getting someone (assuming dp) to suck on your nipples can help speed things up? its an odd one and isn't for everyone.

I've done nothing but walk... I just want to sit lol. DP wouldny try that Alita as already producing colostrum. Also, nipple stimulation, and pumping havent seemed to help Sad

Time to try the oil.... lol

I've been bathing with 6 drops of clary sage oil for a week and nothing happening to me. I am 38+3 though, so due 5 days after you (15/08) so maybe not ready. I really don't want to be induced as I want to have a Waterbirth in a midwife unit. I've been bouncing on my ball a lot, can't really walk so far at the moment.

I am 9 days over and so fed up! Have tried everything but nothing has worked, not even had any twinges or anything. Couldn't have a sweep the other day as baby isn't even engaged! I've given up trying now! I also want to give birth in the maternity led unit but induction is booked for Thursday...Hmm

Sorry, that probably hasn't made you feel any better actually!

So I tried the oil last night and nothing so far. It is a blend oil rather than just clary sage so even if no effects, it smells lovely and was quite a treat. Sat here today on my own as DH is at work today. My biggest plan for today is to walk to the shop for milk. Oh and go on my gym ball. Only problem is when I do that I get such sharp pains in my nether regions... if I knew it was doing something I would suffer gladly but not entirely sure lol!

I think sharp pains in nether regions is a great sign, or at least I've been treating it as a good sign! The more it hurts the closer to the exit I assume he is! This morning I was awake at 5 with a massive urge to repack my hospital bag. :) I'm treating everything strange as a sign now! Going to drive myself crazy. I also think a trip to Tesco and then a bounce is all I'm up to today!

How boring maternity leave can be lol. I've just done half an hour on my ball. Will do some more later on. Plus, some more oil application too lol.

I'm going to have a clary sage bath. I've ended up with half the streets deliveries in my hallway though as no one else seemed to be in and the delivery man left 3 things with me, so I hope no one comes to get their stuff while I'm in there! Being at home is weird, I never knew so much stuff went on in the street during the day. We have an ice cream van! Which wakes me up from my afternoon nap!

Its a whole other world isn't it! I walked into my village today, took a look in the shops which are usually closed when im home and went in the library too! Felt very novel!

Went to reflexology yesterday, still nada.

Well, lots of BHs, some quite painful, but not leading anywhere.

I do have loads to do around the house but I am bored bored bored of housework! Have convinced my 13 yr old DD to take a day off hanging out with her friends to accompany me to the hardware shop to buy a new clothes airer.

It's wall-to-wall glamour here in our house I'm telling you.

Lol NoMontagues Well I had various pains etc this morning which on checking with mw she said could be the start of labour. They tailed off and went. She said this is normal for a ftm and could ramp up again later.... FX!!
