I was wondering what people bought for newborn clothing wise I want to write a list as opposed to just buying randomly xx

Sleep suits from Asda and some baby grows. And scratch mitts and socks. Loads of people said socks were a nightmare but they stay on her feet fine.

We got given a load of stuff as presents which would have been great for February but not for summer Grin so think of suitable things for the season.

And don't buy too much initially. Plenty of time once your baby is here and you can have more of an idea of size etc :) some of the things we had were huge and others too small. I found it more fun shopping for her once she arrived rather than before.

Oh and a couple of hats and a couple of hoodies :) So I can layer her up when I need to and then have her cooler depending on where we are.

Buy 0-3 babygro's (buy some newborn but keep the receipt)

Vests

Little hats - I loved H&m

Little cardi

Gro bag but not needed straightaway (cellular blankets initially)

That's all you really need.

I went completely overboard with ds buying outfits. Most of which he didn't wear. Outfits were also a pain to get on and off when he'd poo'd everywhere. Now 12 yrs later I'm pg with dc2 and I'll probably stick to baby grows (coloured for day, white for night) for everyday wear and I'm sure ppl will buy outfits for baby that they can wear if we go somewhere special.
I bought lots of newborn first time around too but ds was 8lb 2 so was too big for them all.

Sleep suits, vests, cardi, hat. Try to get sleep suits with the inbuilt mitten cuffs then you don't need scratch mitts.
Blanket to put over them in car seat/pram.
Sleeping bag.
Don't get too much, they grow so fast!

babygros, babygros, babygros. The easiest thing by far. I kept DS in them for as long as possible.

Hi I'm 37 wks and I've bought sleepsuits (babygros) and vests in newborn and 1 month size only, mainly 1 month as I'll get more wear from them. I'm expecting a small to average baby so haven't bought anything bigger but I'm sure if I have a whopper than DH can run out and get some! I've also bought socks, a couple of hats, couple of pairs of mittens and a few cardigans. No outfits as such as I figured people will buy those as presents and he'll be in babygros for first while anyway.
