Gah! I'm 35 weeks. Too hot. On crutches. 3rd cold in 3 bloody weeks. No appetite. 22 month toddler to care for.

Sympathies, our garden is 30 degrees, I'm hiding inside next to a fan with the curtains closed. I'm 31 weeks with a 14 month old and 2.5yo. People who specifically plan Sepember babies around the school year and actually want to be massively pregnant in July and August are mad.

:) No school planning here as we're in Scotland. Months to avoid are Jan/Feb!

I want a Gin and Tonic. I want to take Night Nurse tonight at bedtime. Bloody paracetamol. 'Tis rubbish!

Grim. Paddling pool saved my life when I was pregnant with DS1 in the summer of 2006. It was 33 degrees in Bristol on 19th July 06. I lived off ice lollies. We were having building work done and had no kitchen and no flushing toilet for a bit.

Awful memories. If you're near me in Bristol come over - I've nicked the air conditioner from my work and the sitting room is actually too cold...

OK, you're a bit far away!

Hmm, depends on where you stand on alcohol, but you could have a cheat's gin and tonic. Take a highball glass and up end it in a tsp of gin you've placed on a saucer -just to ensure a little has clung to its edge. Then fill the glass with ice and lemon and good tonic, chilled. The fragrance from the gin is so strong, it goes up your nose and you will swear you can taste it. This is an old pub 'trick' to save on gin!
Of course if you're zero tolerance, this is no bloody use at all.
I feel for you though. Hope it gets a little cooler / easier.

Ha! I tried that trick with my last pg. It doesn't work Grin I suspect it only works in pubs with people who have already had a few G&Ts!

4 weeks tomorrow...do second babies come earlier?!?!?!

Not that I'm helping but Wellwellwell3holesintheground, I remember July 2006 so well - I had just moved into my first flat in Bath - a loft apartment, and the WALLS were insulated. I thought I was going to die, and I wasn't even pregnant.

SO glad this one isn't due until January.

stargirl1701, I'm 36 wks and in Scotland. I'm just bored! Mat leave started last week and although I'm not too bothered about the heat, I'm not used to not being at work. I'm so organised, nursery all done, everything bought, everything ready. All my friends are at work. I know I shouldn't complain though....

Heatherbell, I think we are due around the same date. I recall another thread you were on. Is it your first? We have NOTHING organised Grin DH is heading into the attic tomorrow. We need to order new mattresses for the Moses basket and crib too.

It's cooled down a lot since the rain started an hour ago, thank goodness! Still want some Night Nurse... Grin

Stargirl1701, yes I'm due 15th August and it's my first:-) I'm just one of those people that likes to have everything ready but I perhaps should have left some stuff to do for mat leave starting! Baby is moving so much now, I can feel everything, have limbs poking out all over the place.....not sure how it's possible this baby can grow more over the next 4 wks....yikes!!!

I know! There's no room left! I was super organised for DD as I had the whole summer holidays (teacher) to nest Grin We haven't ended up doing anything today because DD is so poorly.

You're not in Perthshire, are you?

39 weeks and for the last 2 days DS (22m) has decided that big boys dont nap. Am just outside Glasgow so everywhere is covered in commonwealth games bunting and similar, and I am fed up of everything. And to top it all off DH cooked me dinner tonight and the topping fell off the pizza and blistered my lip. Due on Monday - DS was a week early so in my head I already feel overdue!

YES! Go to the supermarket.. but watch out for your nipples. I had to go and sit in the car and cry after too long in the freezer section in Waitrose today... unbearable nip pain.
