My first labour and delivery were pretty traumatic for me and the baby. ds was 9lb 6. Now im 33 weeks with another 90th centile baby. I have the option of an elcs but was really hoping for a drama free vaginal delivery. Anyone want to share experiences/advice on giving birth to larger babies second time around?

With my second vaginal birth ds was 10 lb 2. I had a normal stress free delivery with a minor graze.

With my third, ds was 9 lb 14 and I had no stitches and no pain relief!

I had a 10lber the first time around and like you, measured large for subsequent babies. However I went in to labour earlier and so they were a bit smaller. (9lb ish at 38weeks instead) I think it was my body's way of ensuring safe delivery. They were all home births. Good luck.

My first was 10lb2 (not an easy birth) and I am 15wks with DC2 so cannot offer any experience. However I am fully expecting this one to be easier and for DC1 to have paved the way.
My mums 2nd was 10lb6 and was a forceps birth, third was 11lb2 and "a breeze" apparently. I know this one is going to be big, but I am less concerned than i was first time round.

My first was small and traumatic. My second and third were big and easy. I think it's got more to do with good position, keeping relaxed and the fact it's not a first baby

My first two were 7 pounders then had Ds who was 10lb 8 and back to back no harder to get out than the others and came out face up, a star gazer I think they're called!!
No help or stitches needed. I should say I did have an epidural because he was an induction and every muscle in my body ached for a week after the birth felt like I'd run a marathon but apart from that everything was fine.
I'm currently pregnant with dc4 the family are taking bets on what this one will weigh! :)
