I'm 7 weeks cookin but am starting to get worried as I'm not eating much at all.

I feel constantly sick Sad and my senses are heightened so that smells of any kind make me wanna hurl Sad

Like today, I had a Costa Mozzarella Panini, and all I've managed since is a chicken pot noodle Sad

Is it normal to feel this ill, all day, every day? I did not once feel sick with either of my boys Sad

At my booking in appointment I told the midwife that all I could stomach was plain toast and she said not to worry. By 12 weeks or so you will probably go back to normal and you won't get malnutrition in such a short period of time.

I ate a fraction of what I usually do throughout all my pregnancy. First trimester felt sick and second and third just wasn't hungry. Think baby was taking up my stomach space. There was no eating for two. I just had three meals a day and made sure they were healthy and took a pregnancy vitamin. DS was average weight when he arrived. You don't actually need many more calories than you currently have until last trimester.

Iworry - I've Googled Hyperemesis but I'm not actually throwing up Sad Wish I was actually, I think feeling this ill is worse Sad

Guess I'll just have to endure it for as long as it takes, just hope I get some appetite back soon Envy

missblue, I understand all the required extra calories etc, I mean I've been here 5 times now! (2 boys, 2 MCs and now baba nr 3!) but the trouble, and my concern is, I'm lucky if I'm eating over 500 calories a day Sad

I barely ate in my first trimester with my DD. Had never known anything like it in my life. I physically couldn't eat, and there was nothing I could do about it. I ate what I could stomach, supernoodles and ice pops mostly.

It passed and I ate normally in the final 20 weeks plus a daily muffin and milkshake habit

Try not to worry, take a vitamin if you can, it will pass.

I wasn't even that sick, like you I never threw up. I just had low level nausea and no appetite in the first trimester, and zero stomach capacity plus awful heartburn in the third. On the plus side, I lost the baby weight pretty much as soon as dd was born.

In my first trimester I basically ate mints, ice lollys and salt and vinegar crisps. My midwife told me not to worry the baby will take from your stores. Just make sure you take you pregnancy vitamin every day. I felt sick all day every day but very luckily it passed for me. Im 19 weeks, nausea stopped about 2 weeks ago. Now all I can do is eat. Hope it passes quickly for you

In my first trimester I could only eat toast, and half the time that didn't stay down, so was prob very few calories. I lost a lot of weight, about 14llbs I think, but baby is healthy and survived through it no problem (now 32 weeks).

I think weight loss is only a problem if you loose more than 10%, or if you were underweight to start with.

Keep trying to eat what you can when you can. Bland stuff helped me a lot!
