Shock

Have been trying to get pregnant so this is good news. But don't want to get hopes up.

Am around 2 weeks post period and started light bleeding last week which prompted me to take a test, really to rule out pregnancy before going to the doctor.

Anyway Superdrug's own have now produce 3 positive tests - argh I want to get excited but I daren't.

Not sure why I'm posting - I just need to talk about it really!

maybe your period was implantation bleeding or if you've come off contraception recently maybe you ovulated really early.

I would try a clear blue with a conception indicator to give you more information?

Thank you Alita maybe I should do. I have now done 3 tests and they've all been positive.

Been off the pill for 18 months and just used withdrawal method until March. Periods regular as clockwork, the only unusual bleed I've had was last week which prompted me to take the tests. 3 positives is quite telling isn't it?

Can't get into doctor's until Tuesday!

How heavy was your last period? Was it on time?

I think it was probably an implantation bleed, and you are pregnant by the sounds of it! I had a 'period' at the end of Feb, around the normal time for it. But it seemed shorter than usual and I started feeling funny, six days later I was looking at 5 positive pregnancy tests and am now 19 weeks pregnant with DC1. I went on to have another bleed at about 6 weeks pregnant when I would have my next period, it just takes longer to kick in for some people.

It was just my normal period heaviness and it arrived on time. I just can't get my head around how soon after my period things must have happened Shock

I am loving other positive anecdotes so thank you Smile Getting nervous about next period due date etc just feel a bit in limbo but get a clear blue tomoz.

Some women (myself included) have a light 'false period'. My mum had this 2 months in a row with healthy twins!

Wink I don't think you can get false positives from what I've read on other threads!!!! Congrats

Don't bother with digital tests. The cheap ones are more sensitive. Just compare the packaging. You're pregnant!!

cluecu · 25/06/2014 11:24

Thanks guys - argh do you think Lozmatoz?

I wonder how the doctor will work out dates etc then. I suppose I'll find out when I go in next Tuesday.

How can I feed my need to talk about baby things today? I'm obviously on Mumsnet but exhausted most of the threads relating to this early stage :)

I don't like to start a thread in chat as don't want to be insensitive and also it's too early really. Gah!! Will have to keep reading random internet articles Smile

I finished my period and two days later must have conceived, my son is fast asleep on me now. Congratulations!

The only reason I'm suggesting clear blue is it will tell you how many weeks since conception so you can see roughly how far you are. If it says 1-2 weeks then you ovulated super early but would still be classed as or 4 weeks. If it says 2-3 weeks you ovulated late last cycle and still had a period, If it says 3+ then you probably got pregnant last cycle and would be 5-6 weeks.

That's interesting Alita - I'm clueless about pregnancy!

So if I have a test at the doctor, will they do the conception test anyway so they can tell me or do they not do that and I need to do it myself to get the most accuracy in terms of results??

Thanks tmae - that is lovely to hear!! Congratulations too!!

The docs probably won't do a test and you wouldn't get dated until your first scan.

I would do a digital clear blue in your position too!

Report
cluecu · 26/06/2014 16:03

I will get a clear blue then but what happens at the doctor then if they don't do a scan?? Do they just put you in touch with the right channels?

They will ask you when your last period was and date it from then.

If you are unsure they will refer you for a dating scan and you will get a letter about that.

Clear Blue digital will estimate the weeks since conception - perhaps try on of those and explain all to the doc.

Congratulations!

Well I have taken the clear blue conception indicator this morning and it says 'pregnant 1-2 weeks'. Must admit to feeling happier having seen the word.

Happy but nervous, it's sooooo early days yet Smile

Congrats! My son was conceived the day after my period ended (day 6 of cycle) - it was the only time we DTD as DH was working abroad after that, so could only have been then.

Exciting times!

Thank you Stickaflakeinit! I really love hearing stories like yours as the weirdness of the conception date is what I think is making me extra nervous.

I just want to look into my womb and see what is going on Grin

Minor update (I hope).

Little bit of brown spotting on Saturday morning and then a small about of redder spotting last night but it hasn't turned into any more bleeding today. Had no pain either so hopefully it's nothing.

These early pregnancy tests are great in the sense that you can be uber healthy straight away but I am on pins!!
