Anyone else? I'm fed up now, had the midwife out yesterday who examined me and I'm 2cm dilated and thinning out, lost some of my plug this morning, now I've had no pains at all this afternoon, feel like I'm going completely mad thinking that this is it with every bloody twinge, anyone else as fed up? x

I'm 39 + 3 and in no hurry... More then likely because I've only just moved into a new place yesterday though. Im finding it ok through the day minus the sore feet but I get no sleep through restless feet, started being sick and pain in my down below area :s

Ohhhh you could be close then! Wow, you're brave moving so close, hope it wasn't too stressful for you. I'm so glad it's at least cooled down a bit, the heat heavily pregnant is no fun. x

I'm 38 + 3 and it has only been in the last couple of days with this heat that I am starting to feel fed up. I have had no swelling at all until now and now have cankles - really have to squeeze my flip flops on! Still out walking the dog twice a day but it is starting to feel more like a chore now and I need a sit down half way through!
shitatusernames (good name btw) it sounds like you are pretty close - I have no twinges, symptoms at all, just looking forward to meeting this huge lump!

Awww I was the same Fishcake, only been the past week mine have started to swell too, she really is being a complete fidget arse at the moment and really pushing on my pelvis, I really can not wait to be able to sleep without getting numb thighs ha ha, do you know what you're having? x

Going to be a surprise (well hopefully a boy or girl!) Got a pretty lazy baby and an anterior placenta so haven't been able to feel really strong movement for the entire pregnancy. I'm envious of the ladies, like you, on here who can feel every movement but I guess some of them would like to swop with me for a while as well and have a rest :-)

Awwww I'm far too impatient to not find out ha ha, hopefully it won't be too long for either of us, can you have a natural birth with an anterior placenta? x

I really wanted to find out at the beginning and then the more I thought about it the more I wanted it to be a surprise - I surprised myself at not wanting to know and my poor mother was very put out as she didn't know what buttons to buy to put on the cardigans she has knitted!!!
I have got a high anterior placenta so a natural birth is no problem - the baby is all ready to go head down, just a matter of when now. It seems to me that you really can't be far off now if you are already 2cm dilated. Can you tell you are 2 cm dilated? (is that a daft question?!)

I can't tell at all, all I know is she's trying to push her head even further and it feels very very odd. Oh dear, your poor mum lol. So we're both raring to go and ready, but when will it happen, still no twinges or braxtons, really annoying me now x

I'm not sure if it's just because I'm always boiling but if not I have moved from a freezing flat into a boiling one :s. Do you have the shooting pains below? Apparently it's from the baby pushing down :s I was told she is 3/5s engaged 2 weeks ago but haven't had an exam down there yet to see if anything is thinned or dialated. What is the exam like where they check?

Yes! What is that about! Couldn't believe the amount of extra pressure to make you have numb thighs and hips in the night!

I'm 38 +6 and am sooo over this now it's unreal! Don't get me wrong, I love him to bits already and i've not had a rough pregnancy, but I can't say i've enjoyed being pregnant and I really need it to be over now!

Yes, what is an internal exam like, does it hurt? Not looking forward to those :s

xx

It's uncomfortable, she made me bleed a little too, just breath in deep when you get one and try to relax, easier said than done I know!

I've had my growth scan and everything is fine, she's face up though grrrrr and apparently 6 pounds 11 but I'm very sceptical about the accuracy of them to be honest.

Thought labour was starting this morning but nope all stopped again!! Wonder who will go 1st :-)

Yesterday and today a couple times she had a mad 5 minutes and it felt like she was trying to boot her way out. I was jumping around in pain at one point and my husband told her to calm down and she stopped straight away lol.... Only to start again 30 seconds later though

38w is very early for internals - you don't usually get one until you think you're in labour or having a sweep (41w-ish)

(For the ladies asking when you get them/what they're like)

I'm getting mine tomorrow at nearly 39 weeks I just thought it was standard

Saturday I was getting pains every 10 mins, am booked in for a home birth so the midwife came out to me and checked me, won't be getting a sweep until 40 weeks though, so hopefully I'll not be pregnant by then.
