Do placentas move

Just that really
Went for a private gender scan at 16 weeks and was told I had an anterior placenta, been for a scan today at the hospital (20 week scan but actually 21 1/2 weeks) and now its posterior?

It's most likely that one of the scan reports is wrong. Provided it isn't low lying then it doesn't really matter. This will have been checked at your 20 week scan so I'd be inclined to go with that one as correct as I'm not really sure they perform the same level of checks at a sexing scan.

It can move in those weeks! I doubt the sonographer was wrong, placenta and position are easy to identify.

Mine moved! Was told at my 20 week scan it was low went back at 32 week and it moved up! Most of them do move out the way. Good luck

There's a difference between moving from low lying to not low lying and moving between anterior and posterior. That wouldn't happen. So either one of the reports was wrong or possibly the placenta was/is fundal.
