hello all I'm 37 weeks pregnant and last week I had my blood taken at the midwife appointment, I have had a phone call this morning to say I need to go back for more bloods as I have high white blood cells or somethingHmm I really can't help but worry and couldn't ask about any information on it as the receptionist didn't know much. I do have a blood clotting disorder and currently on asprin, I read online it could be somethin to do with that, does any one have any info or experience from this please? I've had 3 miscarriages this is my 4th pregnancy and I just want my baby boy to be okay! I can't help but worry Sad..
thankyou all in advance x x

I don't have any definitive answers but it could indicate you are fighting off an infection. Something as simple as a UTI maybe.

At 37 weeks then if they have any worries hopefully they'll go for delivery or monitoring.

Good luck.

Higher than 'normal' white cells is normal for pregnancy. They also go up in infection. If you're feeling well it's very unlikely to be anything to worry about. Depending on how high, they might want to dip your wee to rule out an asymptomatic infection and/or give you the once over to make sure you're not brewing something. The receptionist is unlikely to be remotely helpful - they can read you numbers and any comment the doctor has made but can't put it into context (of pregnancy or otherwise). Please don't worry. Highly unlikely to be a problem, but worth double checking, as they seem to be doing.

It really is a bad bad reflection on our healthcare services when someone has to google or ask for help here because they haven't been given enough information.

Like others have said it can be a sign of an infection but if you're feeling fine..

Hope you're okay and hope baby is well xx
