Sorry just want a bit of reassurance, had slight crampy feeling, had lose bowel movements last night and this morning brown mucus, not a lot, but still got me slightly panicking. Think it's nothing and normal, but is it?!

Not sure. If you continue to bleed and you get regular cramping sensation down below it could be start of miscarriage. Sorry not what you want to hear. Stay rested today and hope for the best. Either way there is nothing you can do. It's all down to nature. x

I had same but also a total loss of symptoms, went for a scan and all was fine. Always good to get checked out though x

So is a bit of brown discharge classed as slight bleeding then? Think I'll see how today goes. My symptoms have settled down too, but was glad to see the back of morning sickness.

When I had this at 7 weeks I called my GP who referred me to the EPU for a scan. All was fine. Since then, I've had brown spotting on and off throughout my pregnancy (25 weeks now) so I'm starting to get used to it, but I think it's still worth getting checked out the first time, for reassurance. Call your GP and see what they say.

It's still happening a bit, I'll call the midwife on Monday but expecting to be told it's normal. I've had so much stress recently, suffering with mh probs, and only just deciding to go ahead with the pregnancy. I'm just accepting this is real, so I hope the slight bleeding is nothing.

This happened to me last week (at 13 weeks.) I had to go in to be checked. Midwives were lovely and I had to have a speculum examination. They said it was an erosion of the cervix but no bleeding from inside my womb. They weren't too worried, just told me to monitor it and ensure I rest properly. It stopped the next day. Hope this reassures you x

I had exactly the same in my first pregnancy - at 10 weeks and again at 11 weeks. My symptoms also disappeared overnight! First episode I called NHS direct who got out of hours gp to call and he referred me to EPU for a scan next day. All was fine and I was told it's not uncommon. Second time I called EPU direct as they'd advised - they did another quick scan and all ok.
I'd call gp or mw and get it checked but try not to worry.

Still not sure what to do? It's so slight, but still there. I've read it's so common so don't want to look overly anxious, shall I contact the midwife or just leave it unless it gets worse?

Contact your midwife to put your mind at ease.

Contact the midwife or your GP. When is your 12 week scan? You should be able to get an appointment at an EPU anyway and it will be worth it to put your mind at ease. It is common but I still find it a worry each time. Good luck!

Haven't even had a date for my 12 wk scan yet, should hear this week I hope. Waiting to hear back from midwife. Feel like I'm showing a lot today, at 11 wks?!

Hi yes brown discharge does class as a tiny bleed. Glad you've called the midwife, I was always told to always call if in any doubt. I hope all is well.
Having said all of that I bled to the point of haemorrhage with both of mine and they were fine.

I had this I thought I was going rusty, my baby is now 15 and I've also talked to alot of friends who had it too and we're fine.

It's still happening, not a lot or constant, but today looked a bit redder. Finally heard from midwife and she's going to arrange a scan. I'm really tired and tearful, I feel it's my fault as I was so unsure about the pregnancy and have been stressed.

I've had the same since I found out I was pregnant (4weeks) am now 9 weeks and it still comes and goes...sometimes brown discharge, the bright red then stops. I've had two internal scans at EPU (5wk then 6+4) and all was fine! I was convinced I was miscarrying! Not out of the woods yet but they said it sometimes just happens and isn't a problem. Try and relax, rest really helps...and it's definitely not your fault!!

Sorry just need to rant, no worries if no one replies. But I tried to contact the midwife and the GP on Monday. Yesterday I got a text from the midwife saying I need a scan and she'll arrange it today. Still not heard anything. I might as well wait for my 12 wk scan as I'm 12 wks on Monday, but not even had an appt for that yet!

She knows I struggle with anxiety, not saying I deserve special treatment, but I think any mum who is bleeding should be seen to within a day or two? Maybe I'm expecting too much, but I'm starting to worry a bit more now. I keep waking up expecting to see loads of blood as I've got a dull ache.

It's probably not what you want to hear but perhaps she thinks it's nothing to worry about. I had lots of brown blood that was nothing and the ache you have is just worry. I never enjoyed being pregnant it was just 9 months of worry.

If you still haven't heard, call her again. Sometimes you have to be persistent to get what you need. Don't worry about looking overly anxious - if you're concerned, sod what they think. They will have seen far more neurotic MTBs than you anyway! If anxiety is an issue for you, this stress will just make you feel worse.

Ring again now, then again this evening if you don't get a reply. If no word tomorrow, I'd ring hospital and say you NEED a scan NOW as there is bleeding and you are extremely stressed and need help.

Good luck, hopefully a bit of determination will get things moving for you Smile

Well if she thinks it's nothing to worry about then she should just say so, and I'd try to forget about it. I wasn't worried at first but I want to know if I'm going to need to take time off work or make arrangements for dd.

Sorry to keep going on. The midwife still hasn't arranged a scan, I had an appt with her today which she's forgotten! I'm still having brown discharge and noticed this eve it's turned a bit redder. I thought I'd felt a bump before but now I can't. I'm having horrible hip and back pain, and have a headache (but not sure these are linked at all).

I've been an emotional wreck today, and now not too sure where to turn. I could see GP tomorrow although I'm meant to be working tomorrow and won't get paid. I know I've got to put the pregnancy first but I'm really skint. I was going to ask a friend to babysit this eve while I went to walk in centre, but feel I'm overreacting. Help!

Thats pretty poor service from your midwife sonly. TBH in my area the midwife can't do referrals to the EPU, it has to be done by the GP, but if that is the case where you are, you should have been told.

Only you know how you are feeling, but if you are having symptoms as described, then IMO you are definitely not overreacting at wanting to get seen/get some answers.

I would def go to the walk in this evening too, or if symptoms worsen, go to A&E.

Fingers crossed things are ok for you.

I don't want them to tell me I shouldn't be there. My friend hasn't replied yet anyway. I'm not thinking too rationally and finding it really hard to decide whether I'm bleeding much or not. I'm not having to wear a pad, it's just everytime I wipe. I'm so tired though I could go to sleep now.

I don't think you're overreacting to want to get this checked. It's been happening since Saturday morning. Anyone in your position would be anxious to see a doctor, even if it is just for reassurance.

Hoping everything is fine, op
