Pregnancy

9/10 weeks exhaustion

I'm napping during the day then going to sleep about 8 pm and having about ten hours sleep! Then still finding things a struggle as my body feels so tired and heavy. Finding breathing a bit of a struggle too, not in a wheezy way, just in an 'it's an effort' way. I'm a size 12/14 but feel like I'm huge!

My 2nd dc so I know tiredness is normal, I just forgot how tired I'd feel. Being sick really sporadically too, violently sick for a couple of days, then nothing for a week! Pregnancy symptoms are so strange.

It's a nightmare isn't it? When my toddler has his nap I go to bed too then, like you, have about 10 hours at night too. My husband thinks this is hilarious.

The second trimester is supposed to bring more energy. I think until it gets better you just need to listen to your body and just not expect much of yourself.

Yesterday I walked with toddler in the pushchair to the other side of my city to go feed the ducks in a really nice park. We both had a three hour nap after it! It's absolutely ridicks.

Oh it's so shit isn't it. I had this with all three of mine - and third time round it took longest to lift.

It's the sort of tired where you look at the stairs and think "I could just sleep here instead of climbing those" isn't it?

At least you have childcare/an older one who naps so you can nap during the day even though it's DC2. Make the most of that and prioritise rest above all else. Nothing else really needs doing.

This too shall pass....

The tiredness is awful. I had to take afternoon naps with my DD throughout the 1st trimester and go to bed early each night and I was STILL completely exhausted. I did start to feel a bit better around 12/13 weeks, but I'm now 28 weeks and totally knackered again. I think it's now due to waking up numerous times overnight to go to the loo/turn over/have a drink etc, and then get up when DD wakes up about 6.30. Yawn!
