Community midwife present at c-section?

Due to various factors, I was planning to go for my c-section on my own. I think my midwife had twigged I was worried about it and has offered to come with me if I want her too. Anyone else had this? Good idea? Bad idea?

Do you want her there? I'd trust my gut if I were you. I had v v long labour culminating in forceps delivery, community midwife was with me for the last few hours and stayed in theatre. She clearly had a good relationship with the hospital MWs and they very much worked as a team. Once in theatre she was great and I was v v glad to have her there. She was wonderful

I'd quite like her there in honesty, I got quite tearful when she offered.. in a good way. Particularly seeing as she's been the one constant in my care - everytime I get a consultant appointment I see someone different etc which is a bit stressful.

That's great - definitely take her up on it then, that's lovely and she will be a rock for you Smile How long have you got to go?
