Would you believe me if I said my phone is playing up? Turned itself off twice already.

Sorry to hear your news mammy x

Should be 4+5 here but no progression on lines or symptoms, how do you stop the worrying?!

Report
JBrd · 11/04/2014 09:04

Boba I'd say 1) Stop testing. That way madness lies. 2) It's too early for symptoms, so don't worry too much about it. I didn't have anything until 8 weeks this time, so plenty of time for symptoms to start.

Easier said than done, I know.

I am hoping that my Harmony test results might arrive today... It would be such a relief to know, either way. We are going to a wedding this weekend, and I think I'd be able to enjoy it much more if I knew what's up (I think).
Plus, we are stopping on the PIL on the way, who know that I am pg and that not all is going well, but don't have any more details (DH kept it vague). MIL has very strong views on termination, and I really don't want to discuss this with her... If anyone has any good phrases to tell someone politely to shut up/don't go there, please let me know!!

Thanks jbrd for new fred

If MIL brings it up I would just say 'we aren't discussing our options until we know the results' that way she will hopefully know its a no go zone for now.

Def stop testing boba it is terrible for worry, and often unnecessarily. My symptoms didn't kick in til gone 6 weeks apart from the odd food aversion.

Marking place.

Sorry to hear your news mammy :-(

Thanks to all here for the sympathy regarding DH and hi being less than caring. I think because he doesn't make it to my appointments he thinks it's not quite as bad as I'm making out, almost like I'm making it up :-S

Thanks to JBrd for the new thread, lovely title. Have my fingers crossed for you for a good Harmony result.
Boba, step away from the tests, they're not a reliable method of telling how things are progressing, and can't predict anything. If you're not busy today, find some things to do which have nothing to do with babies or pregnancy if you can (may be difficult if you're already a mum Grin). Today you are pregnant.

Fingers crossed for good results Jbrd.
I'd say to mil it's none of her business. Or get dh to have word before you get there to tell her you're feeling 'tender' and dont want to discuss the pregnancy. End of.

Had symptoms, they all went yesterday. Didn't even have a decent sex dream last night (dreamt I was an account at a football team ffs)! Grin

Mammy so sorry to hear your sad news. :(

JBird big fingers crossed!! Hope you get the news you want AND it's reassuring.

Boba I didn't puke or ache until 7 weeks, whereupon it came with a vengeance! 4+5 you have plenty of time! :)

Feeling less hormonal today, thankfully. :) Thanks for the kind words.

Good luck JBrd. I actually rang the FMC to see if mine were in last Thurs and the email had come through to them at around that time (3pm) not sure if that's the time the results come through daily but you could give it a go.

Everything crossed for you.

I am on my way for a family weekend in Ross on Wye and planning to tell my parents and siblings - there will be 13 of us - as I've 5 brothers and sisters - I'm the first to have a child - so there will be lots of excited aunties and uncles - and my parents of course - looking forward to sharing the news.

Re opinionated MIL JBrd, I would echo Boba's advice and ask your DH to have a quiet word ahead of your arrival.

Smile

PS: The Angel Doppler arrived - will let you know how it goes - my DH has already 'rolled his eyes' at the notion of it - men can be very strange.... and sometimes just really don't get it - do they?!! Hmm

Hey massive congrats to you fod and now to pig fantastic news Wine Thanks Cake

So sorry mammy such sad news for you! take care of yourself, rest up and take some time and my fingers are crossed next time will be the one.

Glad everyone else seems ok and I really hope you get some reassuring news on your risks soon jbrd

Have MW appointment on Monday not sure what they do at this one but have hit 15wks today, no obvious bump for me either just what looks like bloating and fat. Keeping my fingers crossed and trying to stop my mental paranoia thoughts and trying to stay positive it's all ok. My friend who had 3 MC has suggested something called 'Angel sounds' from Argos, anyone else find this useful, not sure if it's still too early although it says 12wks. Not sure if it's worth the cash

mammy so sorry to hear your news, hope your getting lots of support and are taking it easy.

pig congratulations, those are lovely names Smile

jbrd my fingers are crossed for you, hopefully u don't have too long left to wait!

keeping it may be fairly hard to find the hb yet, I found it at 12 weeks but had been trying with no luck since 9 weeks, my advice is just take ur time with it, and don't panic if u can't find it! I watched loads of YouTube videos of it to get use to what all the noises were. dav iv heard the angel sounds one isn't that good, but iv never used it personally, I got a sonoline one off eBay for £10 second hand so if u decide u want one u may be able to get one cheaper online, many people don't recommend them tho for various reasons so bare in mind it may not put ur mind at rest if u struggle finding the hb it cud just be a waste of moneu

Angelsounds worked fine for me too. It was nice that you could attach two sets of headphones so DH/DM etc can listen too. Make sure you use it with the gel.

Hi everyone. Just marking my place too. 10+1 today and just 11 days away from the 12 week scan... time dragging by so slooooowly. Boobs still huge and tender which is reassuring; everything else milder than before - tiredness, nausea, twinges. They appear every so often but not so much. Got a cold too which is dulling my senses a bit.

Anyway, just wanted to say hi, check in and also wish you well jbrd with the test results. hope they come so you can relax a little over the weekend.

boba hang in there. You are pregnant today!

so sorry to hear your sad news mammySam. Take care of yourself.

Congratulations pig! Enjoy your gorgeous newborn snuggles.

I'm plodding along here, now 6 weeks & feeling very bloated & quite nauseous, which I've not had in pregnancy before, so I'm hoping its a good sign! Still feeling pretty anxious, I called MW to discuss early scans but can't have one so just got to keep my fingers crossed & hope I get past the first hurdle (mc at 11+1).

Glad I've got the Easter break & then a few nights away to distract me for the next few weeks!

Hi everyone. jbrd hope you got your results and that they are low risk.

I can't sleep despite being exhausted. Had a few people yesterday making remarks about me being a glutton for punishment, kindly meant since they know what an awful time I had with my ds2, but still upsetting. He was born very quickly (less than 2 hours) then I had a massive haemorrhage and needed emergency surgery and a blood transfusion, then just as I started to feel a little more human he developed severe reflux, later linked to food allergies, and screamed for the next 18 months. I've been so fixated on getting past each pregnancy milestone I haven't really thought much about actually giving birth again and having a baby. It doesn't help to have people saying I must be mad Sad

omama it really seems to vary by area or sympathy level of the HCP you speak to whether early scans are on offer. I didn't get the royal treatment until after 4MC. Many of the ladies on here have chosen to have an early scan privately which should cost less than £100. If that's an option then 8 weeks is a good time to have one, far enough along that there should be no confusion about dates being wrong or too early for a HB, MC risk drops to 3% after a positive scan at 8 weeks, and it splits the wait for the 12 week milestone in half. Worth considering if it will help you get through these early weeks.

Jbrd, I hope you got your results through. Thinking of you.

We signed up to the Ikea family card yesterday whilst buying furniture for the baby room. How posifrickintive is that!

Feeling slightly less cheerful at turning 35 today, but we can't have everything!

No results yet, sigh... And I was so madly busy at work yesterday that I didn't get a chance to call the FMC either.
Ah well, have to plod on!

At PIL now, and I worried over nothing. As always, they are impeccably behaved, offering support if I want it, but otherwise leaving me alone - they are lovely, bless them.

Now I need to find a dress that still fits me to go to the wedding Confused
