Hardly a bump but sleep uncomfortable GRR

16 weeks. My 'bump' if you can call it that is merely that my lower belly is a bit firm and pooches out by perhaps half an inch Grin BUT I am starting to find sleep uncomfortable anyway namely:
-Need to lie on side (left as recommended) but hips/lower back ache a bit
-No longer comfortable on back
-Too hot

...I feel a bit daft (plus superstitious after losses) to buy a maternity pillow so soon. Any ideas?

Does a pillow between the knees help? Try it for a bit. I understand totally about being superstitious but you're not far off being safe to buy more bits and pieces.

Im 12 weeks and have found sleeping uncomfortable for a couple of weeks, I usually sleep on my stomach so trying to train myself to sleep on my side has been hard.

Ive actually given up trying to sleep on my left as that just made my hips hurt so have started to sleep on my right, I have a long pillow which ive had for years since Ifractured my knee, which I dug out and have found ive slept much better since using it.

Sorry I posted too soon

The pillow helps because putting it between my knees takes the pressure off my hips, I understand being superstitious as I wouldnt have gone and bought a maternity pillow yet but im sure a normal pillow between your knees would help

I had this too. My legs and hips started aching and I would be up at 4am for a walk around to ease it off.
I found my pregnancy pillow a big help. DP isnt so fond as it "gets in the way" but he is learning to live with it lolGrin

Grin might have finally found a use for all those scatter cushions and pillows I hoard from Dunelm Mill that are lying about!

Not quite 12 weeks but having the same issue. I found that a pillow under my bump, duvet between my knees in a half side half belly position works. It's more my boobs that are causing the issue than the bump!!
