I had it for about 5 months, but I had twins.

I've had hyperemesis this time round, with ds1 I had it fairly bad but nothing like this. With ds1 it didn't start easing until about 16 weeks and had gone by 20 weeks. This time I've had to have meds as kept getting admitted to hospital, but it started to ease at 13 weeks. Am now 15 weeks and am still sick all the time but it's manageable and am starting to function again.
Hope it passes soon for you! Smile

I was sick until about 5 months, but it did lessen off quite a bit then. I stayed on the Stemetil as I was still nauseous and if I had a bad day and didn't eat regularly I might occasionally be sick, but it was much better. On a positive note, I quite enjoyed 30w+ as I was just so glad not to be sick, when everyone else was starting to struggle!

It will get better, it just sucks when it doesn't get better at 12w like everyone tells you.

It was about 6 months for me. It was bloody rotten but one day I had a epic vom in the GP's toilet and then no more.

It was heaven when it stopped

Stopped at 20 weeks with all three (like clockwork). Never actually three up but quite debilitating for the first half of each pregnancy (and worse with each one!)

I had bad sickness until about 18 weeks. I was sure I was going to have it until the end and then it just started to get better. Hold in there things may still improve

32 weeks and still going. On Two different meds now which has helped but not stopped naseau and vomiting. Was off work for nearly 6 months! Just gone back. It's rotten. Had "normal" sickness with dc1 gone by 12 weeks so this is completely different this time. But I've kind of learned to live with it now it'll be weird not being sick! Poor you it is rubbish hope yours doesn't last as long x

I did. The last time I threw up was during labour. It put me off having more kids!

until 40 weeks first time and 39 the second time...sorry. prob not what you want to hear...horrendous and 3 different meds...no more kids!

I did, it stopped around 6 months briefly, it overlapped with Thr horrendous heartburn and then it started again.

I used to throw up when I had my period as a teenager too, and I threw up after dd1 was delivered, I'd warned them I was likely to be sick but did they listen?

My kids are 9 and 14 now but I remember how awful it was. On the plus side I came out of both pregnancies weighing less than I went in.

First pregnancy I had morning sickness from 9 weeks to about 24 weeks. It was horrible. It wasn't morning sickness, it was all day, every day sickness. I'd puke in the morning, struggle through the day, then puke again at night Sad

With DS2 I was still bf when I got pg. The morning sickness started at 12 weeks, just when DS1 self-weaned, and lasted until about 18 weeks. It started so late on I thought I'd got away with it, but I think the bf stopped it for some reason, because it started literally the day after DS1's last feed.

With DS3 it started about 5 weeks, before I even got a bfp, and lasted all day until about 24 weeks. I was miserable, and got through it by telling myself this would be my last pregnancy & I'd never have to go through it again.

I was just unlucky, I guess. On the plus side, when it finally stopped I felt amazing, and the remaining weeks of all the pregnancies were really easy.

My youngest is 16 so it's a long time ago, but I've never forgotten how horrible it was at the time.

Hope it all clears up for you quickly OP, and you enjoy the rest of your pregnancy. Congratulations btw Flowers

With DS1 I never had any sickness but this time round it lasted until 20 weeks. Now 33 weeks and being plagued by heartburn instead Sad

Report
Cookiepants · 23/03/2014 17:47

My sickness stopped at 40+6 - the day DS was born. I really hope it's different for you OP. The only saving grace was no baby weight to lose.
