9 weeks, huge bump and loads of symptoms.... should I be worried?

This is my second baby.... my son has just turned two. My son was 9lb 2oz.... I'm 5ft. I was huge (my bump) with him and got these symptoms but not till I was about 6-7 months and part of it was caused by iron levels! But I've had my iron checked and they are OK.

I found out I was pregnant at 6 weeks when my OH past comment on my belly! I done a digital test so I know my dates are right. But I have been so tired.... to the point I'm sleeping whenever I can, and feeling totally naccard and have noticed myself about to fall asleep at the wheel on a few occasions which has particularly scared me. I have constant restless legs. My bump is massive.... I look about 5 months. I know I'm not imagining it cos everyone is passing comment! I keep getting really breathless and cant lie at all on my back cos I cant get a breath. I am also a lot more hormonal.... crying at sad songs, my midwife appointment etc. I have also been feeling flutters and today I had my hand on my bump and felt a small kick against my hand (my hand moved). I know I shouldn't be getting these symptoms at this stage surely! Help! My breathing is particularly worrying because I am so early on I am only 9 weeks!

If you did a digital test at 6 weeks then it would have just said 3+ wouldn't it? There's no way you're feeling flutters and proper kicks at 9 weeks so it's likely you're further along than you think. You need to ask for a dating scan ASAP.

No it said 5-6 weeks. It was the clear blue digital one. It says how many weeks.... i.e 1-2, 3-4, 5-6. It tells you how many weeks it had been since you concieved, then there is a table to tell you how many weeks pregnant you are. I keep telling myself its my imagination or wind but its been going on too long now! And happening too many times for me to imagine it! And its happening when Im not even thinking about it! X Thanks, I see my MW on Tuesday, going to ask for a sooner scan! X

The Clearblue tests, I thought, only go up to indicating 3 weeks +. Like the pp said. Unless you arent in the uk, it could be different elsewhere.

You know your body best. Ring your MW or the GP explaining what you have detailed in your post. They will be happy to advise you.

A friend of mine recently found out she was pregnant. She guessed about 9 weeks (irregular cycles). Turns out she' was 22 weeks!

I don't think you can rely on the pregnancy test to date it at all. Did the midwife feel your belly?

Either you're bloated and feeling wind, or significantly further on than you think. Good luck!

Yeah, I dont think I explained it right! Sorry! It says 2-3 weeks from when I conceived. Meaning I was about 4-5 weeks. And when I checked my dates I was 5 weeks (not 6). X

Could you be expecting twins? Apparently symptoms are a lot more intense with twins than a singleton pregnancy.

MW hasn't felt my stomach yet but I'm going to ask her to on Tuesday! There is twins in my family (my gran.. mothers mother had twins). My OH has 4 brothers and sisters who are twins, and one of them has had a set of twins! But I thought it needs to come from the mothers side! The thought has crossed my mind, and I did dream I was having twins.... but put it down to loadsa people saying I was during the day because of my big bump! X

Op you shouldn't really be able to feel baby kick from the outside just yet so (as pp said) could be wind or your dates are out.
What were your last periods like? Could they have been 'false' bleeds?
Twins normally run maternally but you still shouldn't be feeling kicks now.

I cant really remember what my last periods were like tbh! And kinda roughly guessed the dates! Its more my breathiing im worrying about. I feel like I did with my first at 6 months! X

If you're seriously feeling a shortness of breath you should ring 111 (or whatever it is). It could be entirely unrelated to the pregnancy. Especially if it is early days.

Definitely get an emergency appointment tomorrow morning, or ring NHS direct tonight if you feel you need to. They'll take it seriously, because shortness of breath is serious.

Take it easy, OP

That sounds like the early stages of my pregnancy OP. Friends were telling me I was imagining it as it was my first pregnancy and it was just bloating as I couldn't be showing so early.

I am 34 weeks with twins this week Grin

I'm panicking that I might be twins now.... although I will be delighted either way. I doubt they will give me an early scan though! 3 weeks to wait! :( x
