Dying to Feel Movement

18 weeks and I cant wait to feel baby move.
it gets super annoying when in out with friends and a have a twinge or cramp and I react to it as they all start asking the same damn
question! "Did you feel baby move?!"
... No.
They, trying to be friends of course let me know all about the first time they felt movement and now im here feeling like something isn't right.
Even at night I lay in bed willing baby to wriggle or kick just once so I know s/he is ok in there. Driving myself insane.

It will come soon enough. Im 22 weeks and have felt definate movement for a few weeks now. Im at the next stage of impatience though... I want my boyfriend to be able to feel it. Im sure we'll both be hoping for the little one to lay still after a few weeks of jabs though lol.

Have you felt any bubbling yet?

I felt some bubbling but I have been really gassy lmao (TMI?)
So I don't think it was baby. And that was a week ago and have felt nothing since.
Im a worrier by nature so when people tell me that they felt LO at 16 weeks, I wonder why baby isnt making his/her presence known... Or rather, why I cant feel it.

Is this your first baby?

You are unlikely to feel them so early, if so. Wait a few weeks and it will come.

it felt like popping for me when ds first started to move. sometimes it feels like the feeling when you go up a large hill and down the steep side if that makes sense!!! good luck ladies xx

Like LittleBearPad said, if its your first you wont feel things all that early. This is my first too. I felt exactly the same as you aswell. Its difficult when you haven't seen your midwife for a little while, you still have a short while to wait for your next scan, you can't feel any movement, your symptoms are wearing off and your not convinced your bump is actuay bump and not cake belly Smile

I'm the same. 16+2 now and desperate to feel something. Most of my friends seem to have felt movements early too. And I'm at the back end of the August AN group, and jealous of my group buddies who are already feeling it.

I felt bubbling at 17 weeks but nothing really since until this morning, when I felt it again at 18+3.

A lot of the time it's because I'm not paying enough attention!

Oh ladies!!! How exciting. Was bored with AIBU so popped on here. My youngest is 16 so long time ago. I am a bit envious with you all and remember so well, 24 years ago...the wait for the 1st movements. It is like wind and sometimes even now when I have that feeling...I smile to myself. If it is any help, I was VERY aware but still didn't feel DS1 till 20 weeks, and DH till 24 weeks when we were spooning on xmas eve and DS gave an almighty kick. Did feel DS2 much earlier but was flat on back with legs over side of bed. Not comfortable but cuddling DD1! Good luck to you all from a much older Mum. XXXX

I was EXACTLY the same as you, desperate to feel movement and getting really worried at 18 weeks as it felt like EVERYONE was asking me if I'd felt anything...and then I did, but only at around 20/21 weeks. I SO SO understand how you're feeling but you have no reason to worry as it will come in due course and it will be amazing. :-) xx

I felt flutters before 20 weeks from about 18 weeks. Then around about 22 weeks proper little kicks.

I'm 35 weeks now and he's got his feet resting in my ribs lol

I'm not worried - just looking forward to it!

I'm not expecting to feel anything before 20-something weeks.

Just to add I am now just over 25 weeks and didn't feel anything until I was at least 23 and a half weeks. At my 20 week scan they said that I had an anterior placenta so this explains why any movements I feel even now are so soft - I really have to concentrate!!

I was well past 20 weeks with this baby, and it's my third.

It is one of those stupid competitive parenting things that people like to talk about how they felt the baby move 20 seconds after conception. People also mis-remember. I am only 34 weeks and I can't remember clearly. I would literally be guessing if you asked about DD1 and she's only 5.

Exactly the same as fishcake, now I'm 26 weeks and movements are very obvious and sometimes visible.

I'm 17 weeks and haven't felt anything. I've booked myself in for private scan in few days and I can't wait till the 20 week scan it seems so far away
