Been drinking apple and elderflower juice all through pregnancy. Some comments on the internet that elderflowers not good. Not really saying why though. Any thoughts? xx

Thoughts? That it would take more than random internet people saying it 'wasn't good' to worry me? Honestly, search the internet for anything in pregnancy and there are people willing to tell you it is awfully dangerous. Unless the NHS actively says it is a concern, step away from Dr Google and enjoy.

Ha! Yeah I'm terrible at scouring the internet for everything. There was one site with info on herbs saying elderflowers are best avoided if pregnant or breastfeeding, but i think that was referring to the actual herb, or a proper dose of infusion.
Just looked on the juice i drink, and it contains 1% elderflower infusion, so doesn't look enough to worry about anyway x

It's just cordial! Honestly, if there was an issue it would be on the NHS guidance and probably have a warning label. Enjoy. Lovely with sparkling water and lots of ice!

Agree, relax and don't google things you should avoid in pregnancy or we'll all end up inside on bread and water for 9 months!! I've made elderflower cordial before and I suspect what it's referring to is, if you were to make it wrongly (not boil the flowers first or put in lots of twigs :S) elderflower can be poisonous, and that would apply to baby too. Anything bought in a shop or made by someone who knows what they're doing is fine. Ooooh you've made me really want some now!!!
