Nursing Bra Advice?

Hi Everyone,

I was hoping to get some advice on what nursing bra to get. It's my first time pregnant, so this is all quite new to me.

I really like the look of Hotmilk and Amoralia, but I wondered if anyone else has any recommendations.

Are M&S nursing bras any good?

When pregnant with my first I spent a fortune in m&s on maternity bras.
This time round I've gone to H&M. Cheaper and more comfortable in my opinion. They have a great selection of nursing vests too

I love my M&S nursing bras
They aren't all the same though and I found the twin pack that come in patterns to have the most support (I'm wearing the leopard print now!)
They actually give better support than my agent provocateur and Elle Macpherson nursing bras!!!!
H&M are ok, I only had a couple of days use out of mine though as the biggest cup size they do is a D and I went up to a 32GG when my milk came in.

How is it going from underwired to non-wired? Does it matter in the early weeks whether or not it has wires? I've only just got my BFP but already busting out so will have to get measured and buy something new in a couple of weeks. Even though I don't have a huge bust last time I tried non-wired bras I hated them. (used to be a 34B but then did the bra intervention and to my delight now wear a very comfy 30D!)

Moggle I didn't think I'd get on without underwiring either but aslong it's a nice snug fit around the back they're fine and so comfy (I find the M&S bras best for this.) I'm pretty sure wearing normal underwired bras can affect your milk supply once your milk has come in after having baby. I did wear underwired for my whole pregnancy though and 6 months pp I still have an 'all DS can eat' milk supply!

I just bought wireless softly padded sports style bras from sainsbury's for the pregnancy. You don't need to pay extra for 'maternity' bras at this stage. By the time you are actually nursing your size it likely to have changed a lot.

Basically just go for cheap and comfy now. You are likely to keep needing bigger sizes every few months.

I went to m&s too. spent £60 on 4 bras. no wires and nursing ones. I really don't want saggy boobs, and to be honest I was told by a friend of my mum's who used to be the bra specialist in my local m&s that wearing a sports bra just flattens your breasts and drags them down. my sister lived in them whilst growing up and throughout puberty, and bless her heart she has awful boobs because of it I'd definitely advise in investing in a good brand nursing bra

iv had no problems with sports bras. Been wearing them pretty much all my life. I hate underwired. I found some in tesco online that aparantly grow with your growing.. Im going to get one of them and see how it goes, only 12 pound..

I have to say that it's a good idea to go underwire free ASAP in pregnancy - it's reasonably rare but I got mastitis twice during my last pregnancy - and the block was exactly where the underwire was (the first time - second time it was the same place again but I had got a maternity bra by then). I know they're not the prettiest things but I'd get a few maternity now (they don't have to be fancy ones) then get done good nursing ones after the baby is born cos you can never predict the size you'll be.

Hotmilk bras are lovely, and you can often get them in the sale/discounted to £15-£17 at Brastop or in their own sales. Don't buy any until a few days after the birth though, as your size will change. I just wore cheap Asda "comfort bras" for the first few days.

I didn't like M&S bras - and whatever you do don't get measured there, they are crap!

For the record my boobs do not look flattened and are supported perfectly. I spent £6 per bra! Obviously it depends on your size and shape.

Anita do underwired nursing bras which are good. I wore underwired bras throughout pregnancy,as the soft cup ones just gave me awful monoboob. I do have the panache softcup nursing bras but find them uncomfortable.
